A shame. AVOID at all costs. Walked in at 2:10pm, restaurant was half empty. Two parties of two ahead of me were given a table without a problem. When I was asked how many people in my party and I said 1, hostess gave an unfriendly face and “consulted” her book and immediately told me that they only had one table and I could only for one hour. I found that amusing my, considering the restaurant, again, was half empty and they hadn’t told anything about time limitation to any of the other couples/ people before me. When I asked if everybody had time limitations of one hour, of if it was just for single people, hostess stated the time limitation was due to the fact that there was only one table available in the entire restaurant and I had no reservation (another did people before me). I sat down and immediately went ahead to the website to check their availability; no surprise, there were plenty of tables at all hours. I made a reservation for 1 person at the exact same time I was there, which I could make without any problem and without time limits. Once seated, I indicated to the hostess that since I had secured a reservation online, which was her “reason” to limit my time seating without reservation, then I assumed such limitation would no longer applied. She blushed, gave a flustered (“ooops-caught! face) and acknowledge that I could stay longer. Essentially, let’s be no fools here, these people do not seem to think that single people have the same rights as any others to eat or that maybe that we’re not as good business for them. In 5 minutes I easy proved hostess was not telling the truth.
There are plenty of wonderful restaurants in Valencia, many! that will treat customers respectfully regardless of the number of people in the party and will not apply these kind of “single parties less welcomed” policies. Additionally, the food that I saw around me did not seem particularly appetizing or different from standard fast food “nicely wrapped” and the place, although nicely decorated, was extremely loud (in spite of being only half full) and had a franchise vibe. Again, consider any other options before coming here. Como decimos en España, “mucho ruido y pocas nueces”, además de falta de respeto/trato...
Read moreWhat was supposed to be a beautiful family dining experience turned out to a very traumatic one . The ambience was beautiful and it looked like a place we can have some good time without having to worry about the safety of our belongings. The moment we arrived at the restaurant we were stopped by the usher asking us if we have a reservation. They didn’t allow us to enter without our booked reservation. That put all of us at ease that yes , we can have a good time here without worrying too much. We ordered our food and sat down to have a good time. A few of my families noticed a man near our table surroundings , loitering around talking over the phone etc. But since the place is so classy , we didn’t think of the man so much thinking that he would be a customer. He first was around the baby’s stroller and then later on after a few minutes he disappeared and we went on having our starters and enjoying our experience.. and then when we all sat down two of my family members noticed him sitting on a ledge near our sitting area a s talking over the phone and paying to the waiter. We thought he was a customer just like us and didn’t think too much about it . After a few minutes , my mother realized her bag wasn’t there which was kept inside our sitting area and when we mentioned that to the waiter there , their reaction to this was such a put off… They were so casual about it and didn’t do much about it . To top it off they charged us our entire bill and only gave us a discount on the drinks and literally showed no empathy towards our horrific experience. My question is how come a man was loitering around and no waiter even questioned him . He was sitting just like that and didn’t have a table and how come no waiter questioned him. Why such a casual attitude and while we...
Read moreOne of those places I had for a long time on my list to visit and glad that I did, but wouldn't return to, unless it's just for a lemonade. It was not great, not terrible, overall an interesting experience.
What we loved:
the atmosphere the working online booking (there was no chance to sit without it on a Sunday afternoon) the homemade lemonade - that one was great!
What we liked: the sweet potatos were quite tasty, despite the onion in the sauses - I guess you can't have it all, it was still good though. the latte - quite reasonable quality for a Spanish restarant the desserts - the chocolate one and the papaya were nice the price was quite ok for what we ordered, happy to say it didn't feel overpriced, although we were expecting more of the food.
What we didn't like: the waiters looked like really good kids and were probably doing their best, but were totally lost. Please, give them a proper training and maybe optimize your system somehow - there were a lot of errors. the peruvian avocado - this is one of the worst things I've ever tasted. It looked and tasted NOTHING like the description. And it seemed to be full of onion, although that was not mentioned. the 8 days a week smoothie - that was undrinkable, too the pizza with pistacho, Lacon and Puglia burrata pizza - my son, who rearly complaints about food, couldn't eat it, as he said it has a lot of onion/garlic taste. Again, nothing like that was mentioned on the menu. I guess it's the sauces again. Still, there are some people out there who hate ONION/GARLIC and have food intolerances. Worth mentioning those things in the menu.
Overall, it has a great location and concept, but really needs to work on the food quality...
