I wanted French food because I knew I'd be able to get well prepared vegetables with my meal. My body wasn't reacting well to the meat-, cheese-, potato-heavy cuisine. When ordering I asked the server which dishes came with vegetables other than potatoes. She said the veal stew and the lamb stew had vegetables. I ordered the Salad Lyonnaise and the veal. My husband ordered the lamb. My meal arrived, and I'm sorry I didn't take a photo, because it was a laughably unappetizing shade of gray broth with 4 lumps of meat and 1 half a coin of carrot shaved thin and another half coin just slightly thicker. That was the vegetable. No joke. It tasted like it looked, and I sent it back. The salad was about 1/2 cup of ham, not crispy, and a couple mushy croutons in a pool of watery dressing. The cherry tomatoes and soft egg were good. I am bewildered by the good reviews. This was not French food, although they did have French fries on the menu. I don't recommend it. Two stars for the nice wait staff and the garlic bread served at the start of the meal. Oh, and they charged us 1.50 for the bread basket we...
Read moreWe had and excellent time at Cafe de la Bourse. We tried to get a reservation but they didn’t manage to get back to us on time, so we decided just to walk in, in the off-chance they had a table available.
They happened to have a spot in the bar outside, which we loved. Allowing us to enjoy the perfect Valencian weather.
We ordered our usual French restaurant order, foie gras, tartar and confit. Foie gras was ok, nothing really special. Tartar was very good. Cut very thin with true meaty-caper flavor. Portion was massive , including salad and fries. Same for the confit, full of flavor coming from its own fat, and with a massive portion of salad and fries. We ordered red wine (Ventoux) and Ile flotant as dessert , 10/10.
Everything was reasonably priced, in our opinion. We spent under 50€ per person with wine and dessert.
Staff was very attentive , very accomodating and efficient. It all contributed to an...
Read moreHad lunch there and it did not disappoint. I had the escargot in in butter and parsley. So delicious and mopped up the butter with the crusty bread they brought. Spouse had the Foie Gras pate with fig jam and toast points. It was perfection. I had the lambchops as my main course. They were perfectly cooked and in a sauce I would drink by the bowlful given the opportunity. Spouse had the entrecote, which he enjoyed immensely. All of this was washed down with a bottle of champagne. Dessert was the lemin tart for me, the chocolate mousse for my spouse and the lemon tart for me with cafe au laits. As a digestif, spouse followed it all with pastis. All in all an amazing meal, and I'm pretty sure we just discovered our favorite restaurant...
