De Ana Restaurant was recommended by our hotel and it did not disappoint. The service was impressive — the team were so welcoming and friendly and they were very attentive!
The atmosphere and decor is also very nice. Minimal and modern, yet very comforting.
We had the codfish starter and some croquettes — both were great! The bread was also amazing, I think we had 3 rolls each! We then had the seafood paella (no shells) and it was delicious. They serve it table side and dished up onto plates for you. If I’m honest, I do prefer dishing up my own paella and scraping the pan, etc myself but it saved us the hassle of making space on our table. The rice was cooked perfectly, al dente and the flavour was excellent.
The wine suggested by our waiter was also good, one of the best white wines I’ve had in Spain.
I would recommend visiting this restaurant when in Valencia. Top class service, tasty food and a...
Read moreDe Ana has a lovely ambience perfect for a quiet business discussion although I can imagine with the low lights and pleasant decor that this would also be suitable for more romantic rendezvous. The bread was fresh and light, accompanied by delicious Iberian ham. The scallops and croquettes were excellent starters, the calamari was fine as a starter though not as strong as the others. For mains most of our party had squid ink paella which they thoroughly enjoyed. I chose the boneless pork ribs which were delicious, the combination of tenderness and flavour is worthy of high praise. I really did not need a dessert although the chocolate brownie was well worth the additional calories. Staff were friendly and attentive, the wine selection was also noteworthy. 4.5 / 5, I will visit again....
Read moreA truly disappointing experience. From the moment we arrived at 10:00 PM, the waiters —especially the tall, curly-haired one— were extremely rude and made us feel like we were a burden. They rushed us from the start, warning that the kitchen closed at 11:00 PM, as if it were our fault for arriving “late.” At 10:45, just as we were about to order dessert, we were told we could only do so if we ate very quickly, since the kitchen couldn’t wait any longer. Completely unacceptable.
The only positive note were the starters: the pulpo a la gallega and the Russian salad were very good. But the rest of the meal fell short. The seafood paella was totally bland and the prawns were definitely not fresh. And to top it off, the bill was outrageously expensive! I won’t be going back, and I honestly wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
