Kawori — Restaurant in Valencia

The waiter who served us displayed very sexist behavior, looking and talking only to the man at the table. I'm a sous chef who has dedicated 7 years of my life to pan-Asian cuisine, I was hoping to have an incredible experience on my birthday by choosing this restaurant, and what I got was a waiter who literally didn't look at me when I said what I liked and didn't like, all questions were asked to my husband and answers were accepted only from my husband, when I said that I only like raw fish and meat, and my husband said that he likes cooked, the waiter heard only my husband's words and the first two dishes were completely cooked until we complained to another waiter. Before visiting the restaurant, I had responsibly prepared a list of my preferences to get the best experience, but the waiter did not ask me a single question and immediately ran away from the table when the conversation with my husband was over, even though I did not even have time to say a word. I don't like the taste of yuzu, and I wanted to tell the waiter that, but he literally didn't listen to me and brought me a yuzu cocktail that was impossible to drink. If we consider the food separately, it was tasty, but always over-salted. I asked the waiter to add half as much sauce as the recipe, but of course, he didn't hear me and the dishes were served as they were on the photos on social media, with too many sauces, where it was impossible to feel the freshness of the taste of the product itself. We also considered this restaurant for a celebratory dinner with in-laws and friends on the occasion of our wedding, if I liked it, but I will never set foot there again, and neither will my friends. This message maybe a bit long but will ve useful for other customers.

I have a high expectations with this restaurant before I came. However ,have few points that have to be clear for the customers.

First ,on the website when u reserve a table have normal one and one with name Mesa Abajo with take way. This is total two different thing ,NORMAL one with good menu and the seat all inside of restaurant . MESA ABAJO - it's just few table near the bar with limited menu choice and they use paper plates to serve and you need order though app by yourself.

So restaurant should make it's very clearly on the website otherwise will upset the customer . So far i did not find the information on line.

Second, about food we ordered tartar de atún and chicken a bit salty but ok . Nigri it's very tasty and but the sushi rice a bit raw.

Third, we booked for three people but the table arrange so small and with other table don't have much space . Also the staff at beginning can not find your reservation and service so rush .Also we ordered two beer first one it's normal cup and second one they just give a small cup but charge same price the beer just half cup with the normal one.

I went here for my best friend's birthday, we had a reservation. Our table was assigned a waitress who introduced each dish to us, which is lovely of course, but when you consider the abundance of plates we were served I believe it was a bit ridiculous after the 3rd plate 😅 She was very professional of course. Because I'm vegetarian, they offered me the chance to 'customise' a meal, despite them supposedly having vegetarian options. It was the solution to an online menu mix-up, so I eventually had to pay a little more than my friend because I couldn't have the menu option that included a dessert The atmosphere was very cool, it gives a modern Japanese aesthetic although I believe the food is more Japanese fusion than traditional Japanese which is great because the dishes had very interesting and delicious textures, colours and tastes!

The only complaint I have is that of the menu, as a vegetarian I had to pay more for my meal which I find unfair, maybe it's because I opted for the 'customised' menu which was supposedly the only vegetarian meal option? I'm not sure if I was unintentionally tricked but regardless it...
