After reading all the positive reviews, I was bewildered by this experience. I expected some drop in service due to it being busy before the marathon, however this was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had.
We were mostly ignored at the door by the staff, with no indication of waiting time given. This was consistent throughout the whole evening. Staff ran around very fast and ignored any attempts to speak to them.
The food was almost inedible. We ordered the mushrooms to start which had a congealed sauce. I will say the accompanying focaccia was very good (but the waitress had implied it came with the mushroom dish rather than being charged extra.)
I had the prawn pasta Alfredo. I had 2 bites and that was enough. It was sickly with overcooked spaghetti. The prawns were tasteless. I asked for pepper, and it took over 10 minutes to be delivered. My partner's dish also arrived a significant time after mine. His order had been taken incorrectly too and there wasn't even an attempt at an apology from any staff.
All in all, with bad food and bad service this place has nothing to recommend it. Maybe we were unlucky with the night and the dishes but I wouldn't recommend anyone to risk the...
Read moreWell worth the visit as the food above all na the owner, Jonathon the owner is always on hand to greet and offer recommendations. Honestly, I thought I was back in Italy where I was this summer. The food in this place is outstanding. All the usual Italian food but prepared just as it should be in Italy. And the wine list has all the best wines from various regiones of Italy. The desserts where kid friendly as well as the portions. I would say the not to sit under the AC unit as it sounds like a tractor rattling in the background which can be annoying as you need to should to be heard. Having said that, the overall atmosphere made this place ideal for a family, birthday lunch or dinner. We were a party of 7 and had a little bit of 7 dishes which we shared and 3 bottles of wine as well as desserts.. It cost quite pretty price but fair! Will definitely...
Read moreOrdered takeaway before the dinner rush. No customers inside and 1 table outside. Ordered a spaghetti with shrimp and clams, spaghetti “napoletano” (tomato sauce) onion soup, beef scallopine. The soup was salty, light colored soup that tasted of powdered soup stock. The shrimp were water-logged with a spongy texture, no flavor and again, too salty. Spaghetti was 3 minutes over-cooked, clams had sand in them (yuk) The napoletano (tomato with pasta) was so salt heavy, we couldn’t get the children to eat it. Veal was actually beef tenderloin(?) with canned mushrooms and again, a powdered beef stock flavor (and…salty!)
Great location in gran via, higher than average prices, huge menu (why?) with lower than average food. Cannot recommend unless you love salt and overcooked pasta. 65€ with a cold draft beer while I waited for the food. Super...
