Hotaru - Restaurante Japonés — Restaurant in Valencia

Possibly the best dining experience in my life.

We arrived for dinner, not realising I had accidentally made our reservation for the previous day. The waitress who welcomed us in was understanding though and found a place for us at the bar, where the sushi and sashimi is prepared right in front of you.

We ordered multiple types of appetizers, sushi and sashimi; all of the nigiri (salmon, unagi, scallop, mackerel) were perfectly prepared, the same can be said about the crab uramaki and blue fin tuna sashimi.

The gyozas we had beforehand were great as well.

As for the main course I decided to go for the yakiniku steak, which was extraordinary (definitely recommend ordering it).

To finish it off, we had some mochi (I went for the sakura one, if I recall correctly), which was yet again delicious.

As for the drinks, I was pleasantly surprised that the establishment had Coedo beer, unlike many Japanese restaurants in Europe that only serve Asahi, Kirin or Sapporo.

Subsequently I had multiple spectacular cocktails, which are a total must!

This restaurant has definitely left a pleasant mark on my tastebuds and I can't wait to return to València to come visit again.

What a great surprise! I went to Hotaru, for the first time, for dinner a couple days ago. I ordered their tempura which was really good, the tuna Sashimi, just sublime, super fresh and deliscious cuts and also 2 different sushi rolls.we loved everythig! Everything was freshly made, we seat at the bar just in front of the guys making the sushi, it was great to see them making it and seeving it to us straight away. All the prepsration soace was perfectly clean and organized. Their wine selection is really good too.

A mayor feedback goes to the stuff as well! Excellent service! 10/10, one of the best service I've had in Valencia so far. The guys were all friendl and profetional, attentive, well informed about their wines and food, they suggested us very well. We felt really good while spending the evening in the restaurant Thanks to the fabolous stuff too. Im looking forward to going back...

The food was ok but the service was lacking attention, we had to ask twice for someone to come and take our drinks order after waiting 20 minutes seated at our the table, We specifically ordered 1 tasting menue to share and they have mixed 2 tasting menues in to one order and offcourse charge us 120 eu for the double order , since we were there for the first time we did not know how the tasting menue should look like and had a big surprise with the bill ,anyway the stuff could have comunicate better or payed more attention at our demand Overall , an average food experience and a not a good service at all for such a high...
