When I called to make a reservation for 10 people on a Sunday evening, I was asked if I had Bizum. When I asked why, the person on the phone declined to respond and said it wasn't important.
But there seems to be a weird dynamic going on here. When we ordered, the waiter gave us a hard time about ordering tapas... but this is a tapas place! We wanted a few things to share and ordered plenty of food. Being told we didn't order enough (including 3 pitchers of alcoholic beverages) was a bit of a slap in the face.
When we paid, apparently there was some sort of timer that went off that we had been at the table long enough. We were told they needed to break up the table that we were sitting at and make room for other people, and this was within 5 minutes of paying a significant tab for a large party.
Frankly, it felt rude. The food was good, but the service was really not the service I have come to expect in Valencia. Additionally, while several of us speak Spanish, the waiters quickly identified that the rest of our group is English-speakers, and only spoke in Spanish while they were trying to upsell us.
Oh, and don't pay for bread here. It's just white pan de molde that they drizzle a tiny amount of olive oil over. Nothing special and certainly not worth whatever price they assigned to the meal.

My favorites were the falafel, zucchini, bread with cheese and caramelized onions, and grilled vegetables. The only one I was disappointed in was the pork loin. It didn't taste bad; it just wasn't what I was expecting. I can best describe it as cheap deli ham from a package on top of soggy hashbrowns. The servers were attentive and helpful. This was our first night in Europe and we were a little confused about things; they were very kind to help us find an ATM and everything. The cost was low. We had soda and wine, plus about 7 tapas and it was only 54 Euro. We would have spent a lot more than that for a nice meal...
Read moreWe sat on the terrace and enjoyed a wonderful lunch. Our server, Amit, was amazing; so friendly and efficient. The restaurant is on a quiet corner near the Ruzafa Mercado. We ordered Falafel, Timbal de Aguacate ( with bread on the side) and Bravas along with Agua de Valencia. Everything was delicious. The “water of Valencia “ is an orange juice cocktail, so good! I wish I could have the aguacate everyday, it’s so tasty. This is a perfect spot to sit, relax and people watch AND have a...
