La Taberna, vinos y tapas. — Restaurant in Valencia

Dinner is not the best, but decently priced. The menu is somewhat inaccurate. I ordered pork loin from what the menu suggested the oven. Instead I got grilled pork, and definitely not loin. It was both very greasy and fatty, combined with some fried potato indicated a easy way to make the dish tasty. The food was served quite rapidly with no time in between courses, and the staff indicated limited knowledge. I initially got served a chilled glass of red wine, but was politely provided with a replacement. As a desert I ordered creme catalane, which turned out to be a preserved instant desert. The restaurant itself was nicely decorated, but very brightly lid with white light and the general atmosphere was not cozy, but rather chaotic, bearing more resemblance to...

Got in here during the peak hour of Lunch time. Was pretty busy and took us a bit to get the waiter attention to take our order. We’ve ordered chicken for myself and Mama. And Burger for my husband.

Overall, nothing special about this place in my opinion, just a fancy looking place but not really a good quality of food that you can expect. Not even appetising the way they serve the food especially the chicken with veggies. Perhaps, not so typical for them to get this order from customers.

Would I recommend? Maybe, it says their specialty would be Tapas and Wines - maybe that sort of food you have to order and maybe the experience would be different....

The food here is very poor, vastly over seasoned and expensive for what it was. The potatoes we ordered could not be tasted for the amount of salt the kitchen put on, and the clay pot pork with black pepper had a sauce that contained literally hundreds of whole black peppercorns meaning you could taste nothing but very strong black pepper (We like black pepper that’s why we ordered the dish, but there is a limit) They also attempted to add a dish to the bill that we hadn’t even been given. So, if you take my advice, don’t go to this restaurant; but if you must go for some reason, make sure you fastidiously check your bill at the end...
