Disappointing Experience and Rushed Service

My reservation was promptly scheduled for 7:00 PM. Although the restaurant presents itself as upscale, the overall experience was average — typical of a high-turnover establishment, with no signs of fine dining involved.

We started with a beef carpaccio that clearly wasn’t of premium quality (certainly not Black Angus), based on its color, texture, and taste. We also ordered a classic Spanish tinto de verano, but it was a major letdown — it tasted more like grape juice mixed with water and sugar than the refreshing drink it’s supposed to be.

The main courses arrived cold. The spaghetti carbonara was just acceptable, but the egg flavor became overpowering towards the end. My wife’s dish was not only questionable in quality but nearly cold as well.

What bothered us most was the service: the waiter, in an extremely rushed and somewhat rude manner, pushed us to leave the table, claiming other guests were waiting. There was no time to even order a coffee. He removed our plates with the card machine already in hand and presented the bill without us asking. It felt more like being in a fast-food queue than in a restaurant that’s supposed to value the customer experience.

If Late & Farina’s goal is to offer a gastronomic experience, I can confidently say it failed. It felt more like a Formula 1 pit stop — fast, tense, and uncomfortable. We left feeling disrespected and deeply disappointed.

I regret to share an extremely disappointing encounter with Latte and Farina in Valencia. Despite making a reservation and arriving slightly delayed due to parking issues, we were shocked to find that our reservation had been abruptly canceled, without any prior communication or attempts to contact us.

In our frustration, we called the restaurant more than seven times, but none of our calls were answered. The handling of the situation by the restaurant staff, particularly the person responsible for reservations, was nothing short of disrespectful. In fact, she blatantly ignored my calls even when I attempted to contact her right in front of her. Her response was dismissive, claiming she was too busy to address our concerns.

This experience left a bitter taste in our mouths, especially as it was our first day in Valencia, and we had undertaken the journey with three kids and a two-year-old baby with great anticipation of dining at this establishment. It is disheartening that the staff at Latte Farina failed to consider our situation or extend basic courtesy.

It is crucial for any restaurant to value customer service, and it is clear that Latte and Farina fell drastically short of that standard. I sincerely hope that our feedback is taken constructively, and that future patrons receive a more welcoming and accommodating experience...

We had high expectations given the great reviews, but unfortunately our experience was very disappointing.

We came for dinner and were told the wait would be 15–20 minutes. Instead, we waited nearly 40 minutes, watching another couple who arrived after us get seated first. While waiting, we looked through the menu so we’d be ready to order. Once seated, our waitress took our drink order: two waters, a mojito, and a tequila sunrise. Only the waters and mojito ever arrived.

We started with the bruschetta al pomodoro, which was easily the best part of the meal, but it came with a piece of plastic in the food (fortunately we caught it before taking a bite).

The main courses were disappointing. The margarita pizza arrived first, with the ravioli di ricotta following about five minutes later. The pizza was undercooked in the middle, leaving it soggy and difficult to eat since it wasn’t pre-sliced. The ravioli was passable, but the shrimp tasted chewy and clearly not fresh.

The only redeeming quality was the atmosphere. It’s a nice location and convenient, given it’s near our apartment. As new residents in the city, we’re excited to explore the dining scene, but unfortunately this spot won’t be one we return to.
