Mood Food — Restaurant in Valencia

Super slow service but the Chef really understands food, that is what saves this restaurant. ........ Dear Good Mood, After reading your response, it’s clear that you may have mistaken us for other guests. My husband and I visited your restaurant for dinner after making a reservation just 15 minutes before arriving. At that time, the restaurant was nearly empty (only one other table was occupied, and by the time we left, just three more had filled).

We did not receive any messages from you, nor did we order or inquire about any rice dishes. However, despite the lack of customers, the service was among the slowest we’ve ever experienced. The waitress moved very slowly and seemed to lack any clear structure or system for attending to guests. For example, after waiting 10 minutes without receiving a menu—while she repeatedly passed by without doing much of anything—we eventually got up to fetch the menus ourselves.

We also felt for the guests who arrived about 40 minutes after us. They waited around 20 minutes just to receive a menu, and then another 20+ minutes just to order their wine—meaning they sat at an empty table for nearly an hour before even being able placing their food order (time being, 4 tables only at the restaurant).

That being said, the food was excellent, and we truly enjoyed its quality. We just hope the service improves to match the standard set by...

The place is lovely and the owner was so nice. Service is excellent.

Food is also good and you are welcomed with a little « amuse bouche » very fresh and with a lot of flavor.

The paella we shared was also good. The only downside and why I did not put 5 good stars is because I think this it a bit pricey for what is being delivered at the end.

Loved the Duck salade. Very fresh with different flavor. My friend took cod and LOVED IT. But my other one took the carpaccio and said it was too salty. It was the same for the paella but with all the seafood it was not suprised (you should really taste the Fisherman paella).

Also we chose this place to taste the Paella negra but unfortunately was not available (which was a bit of a disappointment).

If I could I would rate it 4.5 stars cause this are only small...

Situado en la famosa zona de Ruzafa en Valencia, el restaurante Mood Food es un pequeño tesoro gastronómico. Al adentrarse en este acogedor lugar, uno se encuentra con una decoración encantadora, donde los blancos y las maderas predominan, creando una atmósfera diferente y reconfortante. El espacio está regentado por el matrimonio formado por Alejandro y Encar, quienes brindan una experiencia culinaria excepcional.

Alejandro, el talentoso chef de la cocina, se puede ver trabajando con pasión y amor en su cocina abierta, justo al fondo del restaurante. El lema "cocina es un acto de amor" que se encuentra en su cocina describe a la perfección el enfoque de Alejandro al preparar cada uno de sus platos. La comida en Mood Food se destaca por ser mediterránea y atrevida, pero siempre respetando la autenticidad y calidad de los ingredientes utilizados.

La carta del restaurante es curiosa y variada, ofreciendo platos innovadores y deliciosos como las Croquetas de anguila ahumada en ali pebre y ali oli de ajo quemado o la ensalada de pato crujiente con col lombarda kimchi, titaina y mahonesa hoisin. Sin embargo, mi recomendación es dejarse guiar por las sugerencias de Encar, ya que siempre tiene sorpresas excepcionales fuera de carta.

Cuando tengo invitados de fuera de Valencia, los llevo sin dudarlo a Mood Food para que prueben la auténtica Paella Valenciana. Sin embargo, es importante destacar que esta delicia requiere una reserva con dos días de anticipación. La paella de Mood Food es una obra maestra que refleja el cuidado y la dedicación que le dedican a su elaboración. Recientemente tuve la oportunidad de probar una paella fuera de carta, previamente reservada, con picaña de vaca, tirabeque, calabaza y judía. A primera vista, esta combinación puede parecer extraña, pero una vez que la pruebas, descubres una delicia única que solo Mood Food puede ofrecer.

En resumen, Mood Food es un restaurante que brinda una experiencia gastronómica excepcional en el corazón de Valencia. Con su atmósfera acogedora, el amor y la pasión que se perciben en cada plato preparado por Alejandro, y el excelente servicio proporcionado por Encar, es un lugar que vale la pena visitar.
