El 24 de julio tuvimos el gran placer de cenar en el Restaurante Vicuña en Valencia – ¡una joya culinaria! Este pequeño y acogedor restaurante ofrece una fusión peruano-italiana de altísimo nivel. Cada plato fue excepcional – creativo, bien presentado y lleno de sabor.

El restaurante está gestionado por una pareja encantadora: el chef peruano crea platos inolvidables, mientras que su esposa italiana ofrece un servicio cálido y atento. Cada plato fue presentado con una explicación y una historia – se nota la pasión que ambos tienen por lo que hacen.

Lo que más nos gustó:

La atmósfera personal y acogedora

La fusión única entre Perú e Italia

La hospitalidad sincera

Y sobre todo: ¡los perros son explícitamente bienvenidos! Todavía es difícil encontrar restaurantes así en España. Aquí incluso hay un cartel en la entrada – tu perro no solo es aceptado, sino verdaderamente invitado.

En una ciudad donde muchos turistas solo buscan paella y tapas, y donde la curiosidad culinaria a veces escasea, este restaurante es un verdadero tesoro escondido.

A todos los amantes de la buena comida: Visitad este lugar, recomendadlo, apoyad a estos maravillosos anfitriones. Se lo merecen – ¡y vuestro paladar os lo agradecerá!

On July 24th, we had the great pleasure of dining at Restaurant Vicuña in Valencia – a true culinary gem! This cozy little restaurant offers top-tier Peruvian-Italian fusion cuisine. Every dish was outstanding – creative, beautifully presented, and full of flavor.

The restaurant is run by a lovely couple: the Peruvian chef creates unforgettable dishes, while his Italian wife provides warm, attentive service. Each course was introduced with care and a story behind it – you can truly feel the passion they bring to their work.

What stood out to us:

The personal and welcoming atmosphere

The unique fusion of Peru and Italy

The heartfelt hospitality

And most importantly: dogs are explicitly welcome! This is still rare in Spain. There’s even a sign on the door – your furry friend isn’t just tolerated here, they’re genuinely invited in.

In a city where many tourists only look for paella and tapas, and where culinary curiosity can be limited, this restaurant is a true hidden treasure.

To all food lovers out there: Please visit this place, recommend it, support these wonderful hosts. They absolutely deserve it – and your taste buds will thank you!

Am 24. Juli hatten wir das große Glück, im Restaurant Vicuña in Valencia zu essen – ein echtes kulinarisches Highlight! Dieses kleine, charmante Restaurant bietet peruanisch-italienische Fusionküche auf höchstem Niveau. Jeder Gang war außergewöhnlich gut – kreativ, liebevoll zubereitet und geschmacklich perfekt abgestimmt.

Das Restaurant wird von einem herzlichen Ehepaar geführt: Der peruanische Koch zaubert fantastische Gerichte, während seine italienische Frau den Service übernimmt – und das mit einer Wärme und Freundlichkeit, wie man sie selten erlebt. Jedes Gericht wurde uns erklärt, mit Hintergrund zur Geschichte oder Herkunft. Man spürt sofort: Hier steckt Leidenschaft und Seele in allem.

Besonders hervorzuheben:

Die persönliche Atmosphäre

Die kreative Fusion aus Peru und Italien

Die Offenheit und Gastfreundschaft

Und: Hunde sind ausdrücklich willkommen! Das ist in Spanien leider noch eine Seltenheit. Hier hängt ein Schild an der Tür – man fühlt sich mit Vierbeiner wirklich willkommen, nicht nur geduldet.

In einer Stadt, in der viele Touristen nur nach Paella und Tapas suchen und kulinarische Neugier oft zu kurz kommt, ist dieses Restaurant ein echter Geheimtipp.

Meine Bitte an alle, die gerne gut essen: Besucht dieses Restaurant, empfehlt es weiter, unterstützt diese beiden wunderbaren Gastgeber. Sie haben es absolut verdient. Und ihr Gaumen wird es...

We had dinner on the weekend with my boyfriend. I took the braised pork, because in other places in Spain it is a best choice and I love pork. But unfortunately it was terrible! It was not stewed, but kind of “boiled”. Boiled pork with a lot of fat, imagine?? We did not say anything to the waitress, although she was quite nice, but she also did not ask us a banal "how did you like the food?". The portions can pretend to be a restaurant with Michelin stars, but it is not And I also want to note the amount of wine in the glass, I am from Alicante and I have never got so little wine in a glass, literally at the bottom, as if for a tasting) We regret we choose this place during our trip to Valencia For sure we will...

A must visit. If you’re into experiencing the good food, this is the place for you.

I’m starting writing this review while I’m eating my starter because it’s THAT good. I’ve ordered the croquettes - the presentation is creative, the texture is spot on and the taste is mind blowing. For my main I’m having the ceviche and it’s the fine dining at its best… when the food brings a smile to your face you just know the 5 stars is the least you can do. I’m recommending this to all my friends who are visiting Valencia and you should come too!
