Restaurante la Pequeña Pulperia — Restaurant in Valencia

This was the worst experience of our trip to Valencia. We would have done better if we went for a burger to McDonalds, cause the thing you get when you order their burger is a meat patty with absolutely no taste with an overdone egg and a bagel. No cheese, no vegetables, no sauce, noting! The fries were not done and the only one good thing about this meal was ketchup that you can’t mess up cause it’s not homemade. The salad with the tuna is the same story - 3/4 if the meal was lettuce we could have bought in Lidl with few slices of canned tuna (the best you can get - as we were rudely warned after). Everything about the food was bad. And I might accept the fact we did not choose well in case the service would react differently to our answer about the food quality. If you work in gastro service, be ready to hear that your food sucked. The big guy waiter was offensiveand aggressive. Once we politely said we were not satisfied, he started to explaining all the good stuff in the meals and did not forgot to tell us, it’s problem on our side. There was no “sorry”, no effort to make our experience better. He started acting as a child running around the restaurant and yelling. He was ridiculous such as the high price we paid for this so-called food (90€)....

Honest review for improvement :)

Pro’s: The staff is really friendly when you get to know them a bit. The restaurant went out of their way to serve me a lobster! Its in their menu but wasnt available. After asking some questions they explained that its due to really high market prices at the moment. We asked the price and after telling them we would be willing to pay that. We could send the waiter a whatsapp to let him know when we would want to come for the lobster, he went to get it for us. And it was delicious. Way too expensive yes, but otherwise no lobster haha.

Tips: Burger could use some improvement. We loved that it came on a bagel but it had no sauce and was grilled too much. It was a bit dry. I got the impression that the lobster wasnt available for a while. It wouldve been better for them to get it off the menu. Or when giving the menu, telling of the cliënts that its...

The place looks great from the outside and coming into it is like a chic New York City cafe but the server seemed disinterested in projecting any sort of positive vibe so things went off from there. We asked for a bottle of water to share with 3 glasses and got 3 small bottles of water that were 2EU$ each. He delivered bread to the table that we weren’t aware of a charge and hadn’t ordered, it was charged as an order for 3. Bread was also not the freshest either. Goat Cheese salad was good though but considering th extra charges it was like paying higher end without the higher end delivery. As I wasn’t having beer or wine with lunch today I couldn’t comment on for me but of the group who had 1 drink it was said to be off. There are many options in this area and we had some with great service and food so I would seek them...
