Me and my partner decided to go eat at Zazú seeing the beautiful pictures of the food and the so many good reviews. But oh well was it disappointing. We were the first ones entering the restaurant at the lunch shift and ended up leaving after many people that came in much later than us, why? Because we had to wait a lot in between courses, took us an hour to get our main courses plates taken away and dessert to be served… even though we would try to call the waiters to ask for our plates being taken away it was a very hard thing to do as no eye contact is established, they are not really attentive and carrying to observe if the clients are having a good experience or demands, just give you the impression that they are completely ignoring you. Even the couple sitting next to us has been seated and ordered their food but got their entrances served 1 hour later, they were also trying to get the attention and call the waiters but they had the same struggles as us for a while. None of us even got any apologies from the waiter or anything to compensate to make us all wait for so long and not considering us. When it comes to the food…We both got the huevos rotos as an entrance and where expecting some kind of cooked/roasted potatoes but got serve chips under the eggs and the jamon. Highly disappointing, does not really feel like an element that should be part of that dish in a elegant restaurant, plus was not nice to eat and impossible to mix everything together like you usually do for huevos rotos. My partner and I ordered the same coulant with ice cream as a dessert but did not even get the same thing. He got a different type of cake and additional elements in his plate than I did. Last one, the hygiene was quite concerning, I had a “cleaned” glass at my seat where I arrived in with lipstick print that was not washed off at all. I had found a hair in my food. My partner got his huevos rotos with some jamon hanging out of the plate and was put on the table when the waitress put it down on the table… Very disappointing and we will not come back, we do not understand how this place have a very...
Read moreUpdate 17 June 2024 After a revisit I cannot but to rate Zazú at only one star. The reason being that they served old meat (strip loin) and fries that tasted like it had been reheated. The plates were super hot and we asked why. They explained that it was because of the heat in the kitchen table. We had already eaten part of the bad meat, but they took the French fries back. When we got a new batch a few minutes later, it was clear that the previous had been old and reheated. The meat bad quality and most likely reheated as well. Zazú should be ashamed to lower their quality to this level, charging their guests full price for this. This means a no return from us and also that we cannot in any way recommend Zazú as a trusted place to eat.
Original review
If you are in for an exclusive dining experience with dj music and dancers, then Zazú is the place to go. We didn't expect much, since we value high quality music and food, however our expectations were exceeded by far. The food was very tasty and delicious. The service caring and attentive. The atmosphere and entertainment was spectacular. The music was played at a level where it was still possible to have a conversation without raising your voice. The music (soft house) was amazing (coming from a house fan). The two dancers performed 3 times during the dinner. Here the music changed to upbeat bacchanalian party, but only for 5 minutes. It was very beautiful and energetic and takes you right back to Fitzgerald's jazzy Gatsby.
Definitely an experience to go for in Valencia. The ribs and browkie are highly recommended.
NB!! Check with the owner about the music before making reservation as the music can vary depending on the...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant during a business trip to Valencia — we had made a reservation in advance to celebrate my birthday in a quiet and pleasant atmosphere. The interior is truly beautiful, but unfortunately, that’s where the positives end.
We were seated at a very small table meant for two. We politely asked to move to a more comfortable and cozy spot by the wall, but were refused, as those tables were supposedly “reserved.” However, the dining room remained nearly empty all evening, and the tables were never occupied.
The table was already pre-set with plates and cutlery. That’s when I noticed that my plate had a chipped edge. Honestly, how can a restaurant serve guests chipped tableware on a pre-set table? That is absolutely unacceptable for a place that positions itself as a high-level venue.
The menu on the website is shown with an English version, but in reality, only a Spanish menu was available — making it difficult to navigate.
The food was disappointing: — the duck tacos were overly greasy with no distinct flavor of the meat; — the battered crab had almost no crab inside, just thick batter and even bits of shell; — the beef tenderloin was tough and rubbery; — the tuna was well-cooked, but the garnish — baked peppers with skin and seeds — was strange and didn’t pair well at all.
Additional issues: very uncomfortable chairs, broken toilet seat, non-functioning toilet paper holder, and even cockroaches seen on the restroom floor.
The only pleasant part of the evening was dessert. The cheesecake and chocolate cake were truly delicious and slightly saved the overall experience.
Unfortunately, the visit was a disappointment. I do not...
