Had a terrible experiance last night. Waited in line patiently which wasnt an issue because the place looks so good. Then the people behind us were seated first because they had 'reserved' eventhough there was free tables everywhere which i thought was really rude . We were seated with a lovely view of the harbour . The waiter took our drinks order and within a few minutes our drinks came . It then took another 15 minutes to take our food order which we ordered the garlic bread with cheese to start and the1/2 roast chicken and taglitelle el pesto for main . The starter came out within 10 minutes and tbf was delicious . Then this is where the problem is the main courses took 1 hour to come out to us . Another table had sat down ,been served and was waiting for the bill. I asked the waiter after 45 minutes how long will the food be without trying to be rude he responded ' not long ' . He didnt even check. When the food came i started eating my 1/2 roast chicken and was delicious, but my girlfriends taglitelle was cold which we had to send back which came back in 2 minutes. Which made us think microwave or why did it take so long to make in the first place . My chicken was lovely tbf but my girlfriends food was disgusting she couldnt finish it and ended up eating my chips .All the waiter said saif to us was 'sorry new chef' . Finally when the bill came i was shocked to see they had charged us extra for the bbq sauce that i had asked for . 2.70 euro its not much money atall I just thought after how long we had to wait, the fact my girlfriends food was cold, then disgusting that they would actually give us something off no . Full charge .
Look to some up the food is obviously hit and miss . Service is terrible and the chef obviously had no clue what he was doing. Theres much better places in rubicon. Papagayo and playa blanca i will avoid and never go back again . Its annoyed me that much that i feel like i have to write...

Unfortunately, our visit to this restaurant was far from great. While we didn’t have to wait long for a table, the service was disappointing from the start.
We were three people, including our daughter, but the staff didn’t ask if we needed a highchair—even though the table was clearly too high for her. When our starter arrived, they only brought two small plates (even though we were three), and didn’t provide any napkins. Some of the cutlery was dirty — one spoon had dried, old food on it. Meanwhile, we noticed a nearby reserved table received neatly set plates, napkins, and better attention overall.
Service throughout the evening felt unfriendly and unprofessional. Plates were taken from across the table instead of from the side, and staff barely acknowledged us when we thanked them — no smiles, no interaction. It made us feel unwelcome.
As for the food, we had to wait quite a while, which we understand due to how busy it was. But the quality didn’t make up for it:
My husband’s steak was supposed to be medium, but it was very chewy and had a strange taste, like it was grilled on a dirty surface. He couldn’t finish it and began feeling unwell shortly after leaving.
My calzone had good dough, but the inside was overloaded and unbalanced. There were three slices of mushroom all in one spot, pepperoni and chicken in random places, too much cheese (and not good mozzarella), and a bland tomato sauce. It was just a messy mix with poor flavor. Definitely not comparable to the incredible calzone at 7 Sensi on the marina.
Our daughter’s spaghetti bolognese seemed okay at first, but sadly, she began vomiting later that night after eating it.
Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. I can only give 2 stars, and that’s just for the view. Everything else — the service, food quality, and hygiene — needs serious improvement. I do not recommend...
Read moreMy recent visit to Lani's Restaurant Playa Blanca left me feeling disappointed and dissatisfied. After reading a previous review that mentioned poor service and subpar food, I regrettably have to agree. It appears that Lani's is playing a numbers game, sacrificing quality for quantity.
First and foremost, the service was truly lacking. The waitstaff seemed disinterested and unresponsive. When I brought up issues with my meal, I was met with a stern-faced waiter who engaged in an awkward staring competition rather than addressing my concerns. It was a frustrating experience to say the least.
Moving on to the food, I found it to be nothing more than reheated rubbish. The flavors were uninspiring, and it was evident that the dishes lacked the attention to detail and care that one would expect from a reputable establishment. This made me question if quality was a priority in their kitchen.
Another disheartening aspect is their lack of acknowledgement or response to any reviews on their Google account. This silence speaks volumes about their attitude towards customer feedback and their commitment to improvement.
Overall, my experience at Lani's Restaurant Playa Blanca was subpar, with poor service and unimpressive food. I cannot recommend this establishment and suggest exploring other dining options in the area for a more satisfying culinary experience.
