Have visited all locations for both Dine-in, pick up, take away via their courier and third party.
Really nice thin crust pizza, like that they have incorporated a Sri Lankan fusion to their menu. Generous amount of meat, have the option of ordering half n half. They run offers quite often on their website/social media accounts. I Personally haven’t tried Pizza Hut since first trying Arthurz few years ago, they serve fresh ingredients and have catered to Sri Lankan taste buds.
Favorites would be the chicken Nai miris (if you can handle the heat level of the chilies) prawn/mutton amu miris and Mas Kade/Meat Kawalam. For the extra spicy ones I always customize with pineapple or extra cheese for an additional Rs.120.
The reason for the ‘3 star’ rating is specific to the Havelock branch (reviewed after multiple visits) due to its poor cleanliness & hygiene standards. Also because they did not adhere to any guidelines set during a pandemic (based on my last visit).
At this specific branch, I found hair (stuck on the pizza topping) on 2 separate occasions on my take away order. During a dine-in there were cockroaches on the red brick wall and chairs but the staff managed to sort it after informing.
On the last dine in visit (Aug 2021), no one checked our temperature or asked us to sanitize or even scan/register our details. tables+menu were not cleaned hence we sanitized it from wipes because the table was sticky and so was the menu. The staff members mask was extremely unhygienic. I was worried for him to pack our takeaway so asked for the box and packed myself since I saw him handling the cashier and food without cleaning in-between each task. Also the restaurant was at full seating capacity mts after us placing the order, when we asked how this was possible from our server due to the risk as it’s a small space and quite congested, he said there were no instructions for them not to.
Upon submitting this review I received a response to share the information to which I sent the images and any other related information I had with me. There after the branch manager (Krishantha) got in touch and sincerely listened to each of the points raised (nice to see how he took the constructive feedback) assuring to make the relevant changes and asked that he visit again to see how they have implemented it. He also sent complementary pizzas as a gesture...
Read moreFood was wonderful, but everything else was just pathetic. Service was extremely lackluster and there seemed to be a lack of overall planning and preparation by staff and management. Atmosphere was nothing really special, not bad but not great either. Quite a small place, downstairs is open and upstairs is closed with AC. Seating was just usual tables and chairs with one lone sofa at the front. Wouldn't call it cosy but it wasn't too crowded and loud either.
Personal experience: Came in on a night where Arthur's was offering a buy one pizza get one free offer and there was a large crowd. The place was badly understaffed and not able to handle the number of customers. The available staff were overworked and the food was extremely delayed. We sat waiting for an hour without even drinks due to this. No one showed up to take our drinks order even after we asked multiple waiters, multiple times until I went down to the counter and asked one of the waiters standing and chatting there. When he finally showed up to take our order he informed us that there was a very limited selection of drinks available because they did not have any in stock. This included the usual soft drinks except for EGB and that also was not chilled because apparently it had just been delivered. After waiting for about an hour we finally received the unchilled drinks (350+ tax for a 400ml glass bottle) with our pizza. However, the pizza was actually really good. The topping was awesome, the bread and the crust had a wonderful texture and the cheese was just right. Almost made up for the terrible service and long wait with lack of decent drinks. I have been told that the Mount Lavinia branch is much better overall. Hopefully the pizza there tastes the same as (or better) this one because I would definitely prefer trying it there if it has better service than what the Havelock...
Read moreIf you are looking for vero italiano taste in Sri Lanka, Arthur’s Pizzeria – Havelock is the place to go! 🍕🔥
Honestly, I can say this is the greatest pizza experience I’ve ever had. The taste feels like a premium pizza baked in a traditional wood oven, something you’d expect from the ancient masters of pizza, not from a modern fast-food chain.🔗
😶Before Arthur’s, I used to buy from 👎🏻 American-style pizza shops – and let me tell you, those were just chemical-tasting, machine-made things. Once I tried Arthur’s, I realized the huge difference. Even the so-called “Italian pizzas” around Sri Lanka are mostly just marketing gimmicks with cartoon characters names😂. Arthur’s is the real deal.
🥣The toppings (or should I say condimenti) are rich, fresh, and full of flavor – not just a layer of tasteless crust like you get elsewhere.
🥵What really blew my mind was their collection of hot sauces. With just one pizza, I felt like I was tasting four different versions because of the sauces.
👌🏻Next time, I’m definitely buying a set of those bottles to take home!
🍹And don’t miss out on their milkshake – smooth, creamy, and premium quality. 🥤
The atmosphere is another big plus. Since it’s slightly away from the main road, it’s calm, quiet, and cozy. The place is decorated with simple natural ornaments, super clean (literally not a speck of dust), and gives off a warm, welcoming vibe. The staff are very friendly and easy to talk to – they make you feel right at home.
‼️If I could suggest one thing – maybe add a bit more A/C for extra comfort. But honestly, that’s a tiny detail compared to the amazing experience overall.
Arthur’s Pizzeria – Havelock is not just food, it’s la vera esperienza della pizza. Once you try it, you won’t go back to the...
