I recently had the pleasure of staying at this Hotel, specifically the Highbury Colombo, and my experience was truly exceptional. The hotel's location in the heart of Colombo, Sri Lanka, added to the overall charm of my stay.

Let me begin with the culinary experience –Since I had the breakfast there, the taste of the food was nothing short of delightful. Guests have the unique opportunity to explore this property, as it also belongs to the host family, adding an extra layer of historical charm to their experience.

I booked to stay at the Highbury before Christmas for two nights before our departure from Sri Lanka in early January. I received written confirmation of my booking, and then without any explanation the property cancelled one of my nights just days before our arrival at the peak of the high season, which left us with no where to stay and with no alternatives. When I spoke to Manoj the manager she was so rude and dismissive and spoke over me whenever I tried to explain the situation she left us in - she just kept saying that the room was no longer available without any apology or explanation. She also said she would get back to me with other places to stay and didn't - and each time I tried to call she wouldn't pick up. She picked up only when I used a local mobile number and couldn't see that it was me calling on WhatsApp. I would not recommend staying at Highbury - terrible service and rude manager and completely unprofessional. Sadly I can't leave this review on Booking.com where I booked our stay as the booking was cancelled, but if I could I would say DO NOT BOOK HERE!
