Simply Strawberries by Jagro (Cotton Collection Premises) — Restaurant in Colombo

I had a really bad experience at this restaurant yesterday with my family, which was especially disappointing since we are regular customers. As usual, we entered and were told by the cashier to head upstairs since there were no available tables downstairs. However, when we got upstairs, there were no tables that could accommodate six people.

They have a private room upstairs, where we’ve sat many times before, and it was available. When we entered, a tall waiter, possibly named Raj, came over and rudely chased us out, treating us as if we were doing something wrong. He made us feel like intruders, even though we’ve used that room on previous visits.

When we politely mentioned that the cashier had asked us to go upstairs, he snapped at us, insisting that no one had asked us to come up. We then spotted a table that could seat four and asked if he could add two more chairs to accommodate our family. Again, he rudely refused and said no tables were available for us. His behavior was shocking—he treated us as though we weren’t welcome, and my two children were visibly frightened by his actions.

Eventually, the cashier came up and seated us downstairs, but when we repeatedly asked for the waiter’s name, he refused to tell us. What made this experience even worse is that no one from the restaurant apologized for the way we were treated, despite the fact that we are loyal customers.

We come to this restaurant because our children love the desserts, but after this experience, we are seriously reconsidering.

Jagro, is this how you treat your regular customers and families? This is unacceptable, and no restaurant we’ve ever visited has treated us this poorly. Management needs to address this unprofessional and unethical behavior. People come here for the food and pay a service charge for it, expecting a decent experience, not to be mistreated. Jagro should train its staff better, as this is not a child-friendly place due to the way we were treated. I cannot recommend this...

While the seating at Jagros Strawberry Cafe is somewhat limited, I find it to be part of its unique charm. It's more of a grab-and-go kind of place, perfect for those moments when you want to treat yourself to a quick, delightful treat. And here's a pro tip: take your goodies and head over to the large Victoria Park just opposite the cafe. Trust me, it's the ideal spot to bask in the goodness of your strawberry and whipped cream delights. The combination of the cafe's scrumptious offerings and the park's serene ambiance creates a match made in dessert heaven.

The dedication of the staff at Jagros is truly commendable. Their passion for crafting exceptional desserts is evident in every bite.

Whether you're craving a slice of their famous cake, a refreshing strawberry-infused beverage, or any of their other mouthwatering treats, you're in for a treat .

So, if you're around town hall and ready for a quick dessert, do yourself a favour and pay a visit to this delightful establishment. Your taste buds will thank you, and your heart will forever crave the enchanting Vanilla Strawberry Cake...

A great place to have desserts...

Simply strawberries is one of my go-to places for desserts. Especially when it feels like having some strawberries. I have been there with my family and colleagues too. Recently I went there with some colleagues to have an afternoon snack/dessert. The atmosphere was quiet as usual and very calm.

We quickly went through the menu and made our selections. They have a grate range of desserts containing fresh strawberries, natural strawberry topping, raspberry toppings along with ice cream, waffle, cakes, cheesecakes and many more. In the beverage department you have coffee, fresh strawberry juice and milkshakes. Now they offer New York style cheesecake, lemon cheesecake and double chocolate cheesecake where you can have them with or without your choice of toppings apart from the usual strawberry and raspberry cheesecakes. We ordered Meringue sundae, strawberry topping & Ice cream, strawberry tart, classic new York style cheesecake, double chocolate cheesecake. All were pretty good. We liked them. And they were filling too. Be warned that some of the options have big portion sizes almost like a meal. Especially sundaes, waffles.

We received a nice and efficient service from the staff. We didn't have to wait longer to get the order.

Overall we had a nice time with some yummy desserts. As always...
