My most favourite restaurant in Colombo. Perhaps all of Sri Lanka... Ever since first visiting this place in early January I made a conscious effort to return as many times as I could when I was in the area. The food is beyond great, so much effort is put into each dish, the flavours are absolute quality. The menu is large but not overwhelming. You can decide on small plates or larger options and you're always going to be pleased with what is received. The (non alcoholic) drinks menu is top notch. Some of the best I've had during my time in Sri Lanka. Unusual and unmatched flavours. Bit on the pricey side. Sometimes I do have to double take at the bill. Not always impressed with how much is charged but then... ... I keep returning, so I guess I'm the fool. The atmosphere is the best in Sri Lanka, I think. I love the style Monsoon has gone for. Really great vibe, veeerrryy comfortable seating, the ambience is just perfect even on a very quiet day. The service really sets this place apart from most restaurants. Great guys. Always there for you, friendly, understanding and always willing to have a small chat. You're made to feel like a friend when your enter all the way up until you walk out the door. Really, really great service. I would recommend this to anyone who visits the area. Even if you pop in for a quick drink I'm sure you'll be impressed.

So this is the first time I actually ate at monsoon although I have been to other restaurants at park street mews v many times. I believe they have an extensive menu on weekdays since today was a Saturday they had a very compact simple menu. We ordered the bao buns one pork and one tofu both were really good. Then ordered a cappuccino I believe the coffee was an in house blend it was really good too. For mains I tried there pork rice set menu and my wife being a vegetarian on that day she did not have much to pick and had only two options the Thai green curry set menu or the Singapore curry, and finally went ahead with the Singapore dish. You can check them out on the pics. The pork rice was good but not the best. But the Singapore curry was very bland and my wife did not enjoy it much. However since the full menu was not available I can’t judge overall but based on the menu we had it was decent not bad and not too great. I would rate this place 4 / 5 But the environment was pretty chill laid back and relaxing. I don’t think it will be a regular place for me and I would not look forward in going there often. As there is so much better options in the same remixes like kuuraku or chambers, but I don’t dislike monsoon. However I can recommend the place as a pretty chill place.

It was our last night in Sri Lanka and we came across this eatery while walking along Park Street Mews. We wanted to see if the South East Asian dishes were as food as back home. Luckily, there were more hits than misses. The sriracha infused chicken wings were good, as were the sea bass and the Thai fried rice. The Vietnamese spring rolls were not very good though, as they were too starchy and thick. The accompanying sauce was tasty. This was also the first place we tried the orange coconuts. We wanted three but they only had two, but these came in a cute presentation looking like a mouse. We requested the staff to chop open the coconut and they were a little nonplussed. Apparently, that was never done before. However, after a few minutes, they cut open one of the coconuts - the flesh was young and not too sweet though. Desserts were a little bit of a let down, being slightly too starchy or bland. The staff were friendly and the main courses arrived quickly. Desserts took more time, up to 30 minutes.

I recently visited this spot and was impressed by the ambience and overall atmosphere. The decor and lighting created a cozy and inviting space, making it a perfect spot for a casual dinner with friends or a romantic date night. The food was also noteworthy, with a menu that offered a variety of options to suit different tastes. The flavors were well-balanced and the presentation was visually pleasing. The service was also prompt and attentive. However, as a vegan, I felt that the options available to me were quite limited. While there were a few dishes that could be made vegan upon request, I would have appreciated more options that were already plant-based. I hope to see more vegan options in the future. In addition to the dining area, there is a clean and very nice lounge area upstairs which offers a comfortable spot to relax and enjoy a drink. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at this restaurant and would definitely visit again. However, as a vegan, more options would be highly encouraged.

It’s still a great place! Haven’t visited in about 2 years but can confirm it’s well maintained and still has the same charm - albeit the live music was way too loud and didn’t really match with the rest of the modern Asian vibe. The drinks were not up to standard. We had the tamarind margarita (6/10) which was alright but the chilli pineapple margarita (2/10) was very bad. It was definitely using cordial or some kind of artificial pineapple syrup which is a shame with the abundance of pineapple on our island! The food was as good as I recall! Tastes good, well plated, good portions and all well priced. We had the sriracha wings, tuna ceviche, laksa and nasi goreng. All were really good and nothing to complain! Definitely recommend coming here for the food and ambiance but the would avoid cocktails in future. Also, the service is lacklustre and slow. You always have to make gestures for their attention.

Colombo offers various cuisines, but not as many as we've wished for. One of the best ones is Monsoon. The restaurant is located in the end of Park Street. They have Pan-Asian cuisine and you can see in the menu the origin of dishes. Options for seating are available both inside ans outside. The staff is friendly and helpful. They welcomed warmly and helped with the menu. We tried green curry with chicken and steamed rice. Honestly, it was very good, bit spicy, but flavors were just excellent. The portion is very good size. We have also tried pumpkin dessert, but it was not as tasty as it looked. Also they had happy hour drinks in the evenings, so maybe you will get lucky to visit by that time. In the evenings it is bit crowdy, so maybe have a reservation would be a good idea. Definitely a must go if you enjoy thai and asian food with lots of variety.
