My most favourite restaurant in Colombo. Perhaps all of Sri Lanka... Ever since first visiting this place in early January I made a conscious effort to return as many times as I could when I was in the area. The food is beyond great, so much effort is put into each dish, the flavours are absolute quality. The menu is large but not overwhelming. You can decide on small plates or larger options and you're always going to be pleased with what is received. The (non alcoholic) drinks menu is top notch. Some of the best I've had during my time in Sri Lanka. Unusual and unmatched flavours. Bit on the pricey side. Sometimes I do have to double take at the bill. Not always impressed with how much is charged but then... ... I keep returning, so I guess I'm the fool. The atmosphere is the best in Sri Lanka, I think. I love the style Monsoon has gone for. Really great vibe, veeerrryy comfortable seating, the ambience is just perfect even on a very quiet day. The service really sets this place apart from most restaurants. Great guys. Always there for you, friendly, understanding and always willing to have a small chat. You're made to feel like a friend when your enter all the way up until you walk out the door. Really, really great service. I would recommend this to anyone who visits the area. Even if you pop in for a quick drink I'm sure you'll be impressed.

So this is the first time I actually ate at monsoon although I have been to other restaurants at park street mews v many times. I believe they have an extensive menu on weekdays since today was a Saturday they had a very compact simple menu. We ordered the bao buns one pork and one tofu both were really good. Then ordered a cappuccino I believe the coffee was an in house blend it was really good too. For mains I tried there pork rice set menu and my wife being a vegetarian on that day she did not have much to pick and had only two options the Thai green curry set menu or the Singapore curry, and finally went ahead with the Singapore dish. You can check them out on the pics. The pork rice was good but not the best. But the Singapore curry was very bland and my wife did not enjoy it much. However since the full menu was not available I can’t judge overall but based on the menu we had it was decent not bad and not too great. I would rate this place 4 / 5 But the environment was pretty chill laid back and relaxing. I don’t think it will be a regular place for me and I would not look forward in going there often. As there is so much better options in the same remixes like kuuraku or chambers, but I don’t dislike monsoon. However I can recommend the place as a pretty chill place.

🌟 An unforgettable dining experience at Monsoon – Park Street 🌟 From the moment I stepped into Monsoon, I felt like I’d been transported into a world of serenity. The calm, soothing ambience instantly stole my heart, and every little detail—from the décor to the music—seemed designed to make you slow down, relax, and simply enjoy the moment. The food was a beautiful fusion of Thai, Singaporean, and Malaysian flavours—each dish bursting with taste, beautifully presented, served in generous portions, and prepared with such care that you can feel the chef’s passion in every bite. Chef Thushara is truly an artist in the kitchen. What really makes Monsoon stand out is the hospitality. Manager Chris and the entire Monsoon team treat you like royalty—warm smiles, genuine care, and the kind of service that makes you feel at home while still feeling pampered. The soft, calming music in the background adds another layer to the experience, creating the perfect atmosphere for mingling with friends or sharing a quiet, meaningful meal with loved ones. If you want a dining experience that’s more than just food—something that touches all your senses—Monsoon is the place. I can say with all my heart, this is a 100% recommendation. Once you visit, you’ll fall in love, just like I did. ♥️

The dessert tasted like DOG FOOD & gave me FOOD POISONING! ❌💀

I dont usually write reviews, but this is something i couldn't avoid sparing awareness on...

My friends & i visted Monsoon yesterday for dessert after a dinner gathering, there wasnt much of a selection mainly just brownies , icecream & banana fritters. Another option called "Indonesian cake" was also available.Out of curiosity i asked the manager what it was & he told me it was a layered cake with custard and other different layers (sounded appetizing) so i ordered it and my friends ordered 2 icecreams.

No other people were ordering during that time. Yet it took over half an hour to receive our dishes ( just basic pre-made dessert). I called out to the staff ,they were too busy biting their nails and chatting with the chefs to hear us calling them 5 steps away.

When we finally received the dessert it was APPALLING! Just two bite sized portions of dry, layered , rubbery crepes. No "custard" layers or "cake" in it. It looked like it had been left at the bottom of a fridge for a week and tasted like how i would imagine DOG FOOD to taste. Just old crepe mushed together with lumpy kithul honey.Just DISGUSTING!!!💀🤮

Wasnt cheap either.

My friends got 2 scoops of regular store-bought chocolate ice cream with milo powder very lightly sprinkled on the top , labled as "Milo icecream".

I ended up with food poisoning that night right after i got home.

... looking at reviews I've realized more than 5 people have complained about the same issue regarding food poisoning in the past. I am more than happy to show all 5 medications im...

This restaurant is a joke! We were scammed in broad daylight, and what they did with the bill is blatant theft that should be punished. It is unacceptable to add absurd charges to the prices on the menu, which should be the final gross prices. The scam started with the price. They added an outrageous 21% VAT to every order. This is ridiculous! The prices listed on the menu should be the final prices, meaning they should already include tax. No restaurant has the right to add extra VAT to the bill. But that wasn't the end of it. They also included some mysterious "SSCL" tax and, of course, a 10% service charge, which was the only charge mentioned on the menu. In total, they added a 21% VAT, an unidentified tax, and a 10% service charge. This amounts to almost 31% in extra costs that were not included on the menu. This is a clear scam and a rip-off. I will not let these practices go unpunished. This matter must be reported to the appropriate authorities, such as the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection and the Tax Office. It's a scandal, and the restaurant should face the consequences for this fraud. I believe this case has a chance to go to court, and the owners should be held accountable for their actions. On top of everything else, the waiters were insolent and should be fired...
