This is a nice little place and I can imagine it being so crowded on a weekend. If you are around the area this place is a must not only because of the great food and drinks, but also of how sweet everyone there is! Highly recommended! We went on a weekday for brunch. We had the Siam Ceylon (kiribath with Thai curry) since it was a highly recommended dish, Lankan Benny with Polos, Ceylon turkish eggs , Shakshuka with pulled chicken and Smokey Eggplant Superbowl. I have to say that all the items on the menu are a fusion and very creative. I can understand why the Kiribath and Thai curry are a fan favorite. The curry has got the right amount of sweet and spiciness and was perfect. the kiribath was really creamy as well. Lankan Benny was good, Polos was a tad bit salty and we couldn't find the seeni sambol on that. Ceylon Turkish eggs and Shakshuka were also really great. It was served with Garlic roast paan that was really yummy. The Smokey Eggplant was the one that was least liked by us . It felt like the eggplant we had was a tad bit charred creating an unpleasant taste. For drinks we had the Kithul iced coffee and the Cucmber Lime and mint cooler. Both drinks were really great! We were celebrating a birthday and they were really nice enough to light a candle and play and sing Happy Birthday. That was really sweet of them and we really appreciate it. We spoke with Tash the owner and she was very sweet to answer our questions, accommodate our requests and we were really happy we chose this place to celebrate the birthday of someone special.

If you’re in the Colombo 5 area, The STACHE is a cozy little gem you absolutely must try. My son and I decided to swing by for brunch and it didn’t disappoint. We ordered the famous Siam Ceylon, which is a unique twist on the traditional Sri Lankan milk rice (Kiribath). This dish came with a flavorful Thai curry and a choice of Tofu, Fish, or Chicken. Since my son was specifically craving rice and I wasn’t looking for a heavy meal, we decided to share a portion with chicken. The staff was super accommodating and even customized it by removing the bacon as requested. The milk rice was beautifully creamy, topped with crispy fried onions and paired perfectly with the Thai curry. The chicken was tender and the portion size was more than enough for both of us. The balance of flavors was spot on—creamy, savoury and just the right amount of spice. It was truly a delicious, flavorful dish that hit all the right notes. To complement the meal, we also ordered drinks— an Iced Milo, which was a nostalgic treat for my son and I went with my favorite, an Iced Matcha Latte. Both were refreshing and added to the overall experience. The STACHE has so many other tempting options on the menu, like the Lankan Benny, the BIG Breakfast and the Katsu Sando’s, which we’re excited to try next time. This place definitely deserves a return visit! In short, The STACHE offers a perfect blend of flavors, great customisation and friendly service. Highly recommend it for anyone in the area looking for a memorable meal.

Review of The 'Stache My wife and I recently visited *The 'Stache* for a brunch outing, and it turned out to be a delightful experience! The place has a cozy, laid-back vibe that makes it perfect for a relaxed meal. Although it was quite crowded when we arrived, the waiters were exceptionally helpful and ensured that we got a table without much delay. For the mains, we ordered the fried pork chunk shakshuka and ceylon turkish eggs. Both dishes were beautifully presented and packed with flavor. The shakshuka was hearty, with tender pork chunks swimming in a rich, spicy tomato base that paired wonderfully with the accompanying bread. The ceylon turkish eggs were equally impressive—a fusion of creamy yogurt, perfectly poached eggs, and a flavorful chili oil drizzle that had just the right kick. To drink, I opted for an iced americano, which was strong and refreshing, while my wife had the watermelon narang cooler. The cooler was a unique and refreshing blend of sweet watermelon and tangy citrus—a perfect choice for a warm day. For dessert, we shared the pancakes staches, which lived up to their name in every way. Fluffy, light pancakes adorned with quirky mustache-shaped toppings, they were a treat for both the eyes and the palate. Prices are fair for the quality and portions, making it a great value for money. Overall, The 'Stache is a gem for brunch lovers, offering flavorful dishes, a welcoming atmosphere, and attentive service. Highly recommended!

I was drawn to this place due to the numerous good reviews and how busy the place is on weekends. Having finally tried the foodand experienced their service, I'd say that they are over-hyped and overrated. It's near impossible to get a table indoors on weekends, which I can understand and I have no complaints there. I was quite content to have a outdoor table rather than sit indoors in a cramped space with loud customers everywhere. It took three requests before the staff finally gave us glasses of water while we waited for our meals. The bearded waiter with spectacles who served it, spilled most of the water on the table, didn't apologise and did not offer to refill the glasses. The iced chocolates we ordered might as well have been called iced milk - absolutely no chocolate in it. just a squirt or two of chocolate dessert dressing and a whole lot of milk - a very disappointing start. The first dish finally arrived after we reminded them twice to check on our orders, even though the tables around us who ordered after us, got served well before us. The Turkish Eggs arrived cold. There was no point asking it to be reheated, since the poached eggs wouldn't be soft, so we ate it cold. It was good and unique, so no complaints. The bacon chilli jam and Dhal were a nice touch. The Croque Madame arrived some time later and was cold as well. Had to ask that to be reheated. I have had mouthwatering Croque Monsieurs before and this was just glorified Kade Paan with an average filling. Even the Bechamel didn't taste right. I was willing to shrug off all of the above due it being a busy day and the staff are human too. I've worked in the service industry and I'm sympathetic to things like these. What really ticked me off was that while the other tables requested for the bill once they finished their meals, we were given the bill way before we finished eating. Like, why? Then comes the bearded waiter with spectacles to ask if us if we're finished eating and and if we have paid the bill yet or not! I told him that as he can clearly see, we're still eating. He left without a word. We finally finished eating, got the attention of another waiter to pay the bill and that was it. The bearded waiter with spectacles comes again and opens the bill folder to check if we have paid, asking me yet again if I paid the bill. I told him off saying I've already paid the bill and that we're leaving. That guy needs a serious lesson on basic manners and training on how to be a respectful waiter. Pilawoos waiters know to be more polite than him. I guess you have to loud and obnoxious like most of the other customers who come here to get respectful treatment. Politeness and quietness don't seem to be behaviour these guys understand. Can't say I'm...

This place is truly a hidden gem! I first visited with my friends, and from the moment I tasted the food, I was hooked. The experience was so incredible that I couldn't wait to bring my colleagues. They were equally impressed, and we all ended up loving every dish we tried.

One standout for me was the Siam Ceylon, a dish that combines milky kiribath with Thai red curry, fried seeni sambol, chili jam, and bacon ends. The kiribath bowl were by far the best I've ever had, and the Thai red curry was perfectly crafted, bringing out an amazing depth of flavor that paired wonderfully with the kiribath. Mixing everything together created a delightful, contemporary twist on the traditional kiribath that I can't get enough of. The portion size was generous, and the presentation was flawless. This dish is priced at 2500 LKR.

Another favorite of mine was the Dos Tacos. Two soft tacos filled with labneh, mango sauce, fresh onions, pickled red cabbage, and herbs. I chose the pulled chicken option, and it was incredible. The tacos were huge and bursting with flavor. The pulled chicken was tender and packed inside generously, creating a perfect bite. The balance of the pickled flavors, mango sauce, and chicken transported me straight to Mexico. The presentation was stunning, vibrant, and very Instagram-worthy! This dish is priced at 2300 LKR.

We also tried the Katsu Sando, which featured mild milk bread, Asian cole slaw, pickled cucumber, sriracha mayo, and kithul chili paste with chicken. At 2800 LKR, this dish was another showstopper. The milk bread was incredibly soft and unique, and it truly elevated the experience. The chicken was substantial and juicy, and once again, the presentation was nothing short of beautiful.

Although the place is cozy, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, always full of happy people enjoying their meals. The interior is thoughtfully designed, and every dish is a work of art. For the quality, portion size, and the richness of flavor, this place offers great value for money. I can't wait to return again and again for the unforgettable food and...
