Halcyon House Colombo — Hotel in Colombo

The hotel can be found down a very small, one-way street. The gentleman on reception and the staff were lovely and checked us in quickly. The hotel itself is fantastically decorated and has a very relaxed vibe, the interior is brilliant!! ||||We stayed in room 2 which was very clean and had a low bed with a nice big bathroom! The shower had a power shower attached so it was nice and hot. The only problem with the bathroom was it got very hot due to the windows and direction of the morning sun! ||||The breakfast was - eggs, toast & jam, fruit and coffee/tea but it was nice and freshly cooked for you when you came downstairs. The seating area is small but we were the only ones there. ||||The bed was comfortable, I would have liked a hairdryer but apart from that, we had everything else we needed. ||||The location is great as it's in the center and as soon as you walk back down the street, getting a tuk-tuk is easy. We really enjoy our stay, we checked our very early but there was someone there to leave...

We stay one night before flyng and the room was clean and well prepared. We have the flight in the evening so we ask at the reception if we can leave our baggage in the afternoon and at what hour we have to do the check out. The man said that the room is available until 4 pm with any additional cost . after we went for a trip to the city centre and come back around 14 pm . few minute later a new receptionist come to our Room and said that we have to leave hurry because the room was reserved for other client and we passed the chek out time . for this problem the receptionist said we have to pay 25 dollars for penalty.we explained that his collaborator talk with us and give to us the possibility to stay until 4 pm but the new receptionist said that he knows that the problem come from his employee but we have to pay....

Located in Colombo 5 residential area and around 1 hour from airport. Not a lot of restaurants near by, but yes located in a quiet area. Getting there was troublesome due to amount of road traffic.|Located down an alley, appears new place. Stairs to large room No.2 that had a comfy bed with large wooden base that could be annoying to someone kicking the edge.|Very noisy water system when others use the water and AC also noisy|Room fan only worked at fast speed.|TV did not work, you need to advise them the channels you want.|WiFi was an issue where the password expired at midnight so not available when you wake|Bathroom is ok, only soap provided, shower wash container was empty.|Breakfast was basic|Charged $20 for transport to airport.|Probably better and cheaper places elsewhere, for one...
