Exceptional world-class coffee. One of a kind. Review over.
Any review less than 5 has been reported to Google for off-topic. I’m loathe to be combative but those reviews are not about coffee. Sorry.
One scent and you know where you are - a coffee lovers dream. These are the surgeons of coffee, the Lionel Messi’s of coffee. These Taj Mahal of coffee.
If you love and adore coffee travel to get here. If you want further your coffee hobby, there’s an airport in Göteborg - fly here. If you’re a noob, A43 will welcome you with open arms and seduce you into bliss.
Americano, as always wherever I go, Ethiopian is the day one. With that baseline behind me, I build. And the baseline here is Mt. Everest. I’m shocked by the seismic perfection of their coffee at A43.
After working in California, Oregon, Washington, and BC for years, and asking baristas up and down the west coast where do they drink coffee, I’m okay and coffee.
A43 is what makes me better.
A43 is the present moment and future of coffee. They define it. They make us better coffee drinkers.
Great people work here too. From all over the best of the best assemble here to ply their craft. Thank goodness they have a home here.
The atmosphere is coffee. Everything here is assembled around coffee.
Sure they have great pastries and euro coffee snobs will take this great place for granted. You’re so lucky. In Seattle the coffee is Starbucks. Not coffee but sugar fake milk.
This place is packed and I assume everyone here wants to enjoy coffee, a pastry, and get the coffee vibe.
Get into A43. This is it. The full...
Read moreDelicious coffee prepared by someone who really cares and is very knowledgeable about coffee. Stopped in after visiting the national art museum (just up the street) to escape the rain and give our feet a break.
I ordered a cappuccino with oat milk and, after overhearing the previous customers, my brother had a whipped Americano drink. Both of us were asked what flavor profile we wanted (fruity or more chocolatey) which was their way of asking what kind of roast we wanted. I thought that was a nice way to do it, making it more accessible.
The cappuccino was v good but the whipped Americano was amazing. There's no dairy or milk in it. Just water and espresso placed into their milkshake mixer and out comes this frothy concoction that is smooth like a nitro cold brew with the intense flavor of espresso. Well done!
Food looked really good and everything is made to order, by hand. We watched the guy chopping up all of the ingredients by hand for each salad. Impressive (if slow). While we didn't order anything I wouldn't hesitate to if I went again.
Seating is comfortable and they have in/out options plus a toilet.
Highly...
Read moreOkay I like and respect Da Matteo-they’re solid. Their staff is great. Their food is great. Their concept is great. Their current layout and takeover is great. Anything less than them is basically simple swill. But holy ish - this coffee from A43 was perfect. I got a “classic” cappuccino and it was all the things I want in a coffee. I don’t want it bitter or acidic. I hate “blonde” coffee (that is not a “thing” -stop trying to make it a “thing.” It freakin tastes how chalk smells). I want a full, chewy mouthfeel. I want velvet. I want chocolate undertones and richness and levels of comfort. It was almost caramel-y, and- while I do not like any kind of sweetener whatsoever RUINING my coffee - I did not mind the caramel tone at all. They’re doing some witch stuff here. Please go support them. Also the cheesecake was good.
PS that is a Redeye in the photo opposite the cappuccino, and he loved it-without milk. First time in 13 years I’ve seen him willingly drink black coffee (with a shot in it) - because he never ever ever has coffee...
