I recently visited Espresso House Nordstan in Gothenburg after seeing an advertisement for their new Drink of the Month displayed right outside the café. It looked interesting, so we decided to give it a try. The drink we ordered was called the Latte Mocha, and overall, it tasted really good — smooth, rich, and nicely presented. However, I found it a bit too sweet, more than what I usually prefer, so next time I might request it with less sugar.
The customer service was quite nice; the staff were polite, friendly, and helpful. They explained that any extra flavors like vanilla or hazelnut come with an additional cost, which is good to know in advance. Service speed was moderate — not too fast, not too slow — around 30% of tables were occupied, so it wasn’t crowded or noisy, which made the visit comfortable.
The location is excellent — right at the entrance of Nordstan, connected to Brunnsparken, with Stadium Outlet across the walkway and McDonald’s nearby. The tram and bus stops are right outside, so it’s super convenient for anyone traveling through the city center.
The café itself is double-storey, but the space isn’t very large. There’s no restroom inside, though there’s a central toilet facility available in the mall. The atmosphere felt cozy and calm — perfect for a short break or casual meeting.

My mom (of Chinese descent) visited here two Sundays ago. She ordered a croissant (overpriced btw), and the woman behind the counter gave her one from the "bottom" row, of which none looked as nice as the croissants on the "top" row; to add to that, where was water on the plate when my mom got her order, which made the croissant soggy and unappetizing. My mom went back to exchange her soggy croissant for something else, and the woman told her that "it isn't possible to change to something else" and that my mom could get a new croissant.
Mom opted in for a new croissant, and once again, the woman served her one from the "bottom row". Mom didn't want to be a bother since there were a lot of other customers, so she quietly went to her table with the new croissant. But as she started to eat, she noticed this time that the bottom of the croissant was raw!
As she went back to the counter to return this second inedible croissant, she service woman changed from "it isn't possible to change to something else" to "well what else do you want instead?" My mom, still not wanting to keep the line of customers from waiting, simply exchanged for a cinnamon bun.
As she was leaving, she saw a Swedish couple next to her was being served croissants from the "top row", on dry plates. She can't help but feel discriminated against, due to her ethnicity. She will not come back to this...

Vi skulle spise morgen mad med vores børn vi køber 4 kaffer, 2 kager og noget andet. Min søn ønsker så en smoothie så vi købe en fra Joe n juice som han får med over her sidder vi roligt og spiser, indtil deres uforskammet medarbejder kommer, her siger han den nå du ikke drikke her, (altså smoothien) jeg siger vi har købet 10 ting ved jer, som vi roligt sidder og spiser/drikker så forstår ikke helt man kan gå i så små sko at et barn drikker en smoothie, men jeg siger til ham fint vi stiller dem her og vi drikker ikke af dem før vi gået. Når vi har spist vores mad da vi ikke gider diskutere her er han så flabet at han siger enten kan han smide dem ud ellers kan han ringe til vagterne som smider os ud !
Her tænker jeg bare WHAT vi sidder roligt med vores børn, jeg har sagt til han vi ikke drikker af dem før vi gået. Men han er så flabet, ubehøvlet at vi ikke engang må have den med derinden (selvom vi har stillet den i hjørnet. Så vi har kun en mulighed enten kan vi smide dem ud som vi lige har købt ellers bliver vi smidt ud. Vi har børn med så vi vælger at gå selv uden vores mad som vi lige har betalt for. Jeg vil anbefale ALLE til at boykotte dem den måde de talte på er ikke i orden når man som rolig familie spiser ved dem. Jeg håber de vil overvejer hvem de ansætter og måden deres personlige taler på er ikke i orden. Vores børn syntes det var yderst ubehageligt. Jeg sagde endnu til ham så hvad hvis vi havde købt takeaway fra en andet sted så må du heller ikke have det i en pose med inden du kommer selvom du ikke spiser det.
