I have been here several times and if going just by my previous visits I would give the restaurant a solid 4. However, it seems to have declined somewhat in recent years.
We were a group of people who had the duck as our main course and it came with fries. Not even good fries; they tasted about like what you get in a street kitchen. The duck was a bit tough. I've had duck that was prepared to perfection in other restaurants, this was not anywhere near that. I don't know what genius came up with the idea to serve street kitchen fries with duck, but maybe that wasn't the greatest idea anyone has ever had. It felt kind of like the kitchen was working on a budget and couldn't afford anything fancier.
It also took ages to get the attention of staff in order to pay. The service was good otherwise, but they seemed to be understaffed for the amount of customers. The placement of the waiting area is also very bad, it's in the middle of the corridor leading into the restaurant so all the people waiting to get seated stand in the way of staff going to and coming from the terrace. Staff seemed irritated by the people waiting and yet the people were waiting because the staff weren't fast enough in getting people seated.
The wine was pretty good, but it's kind of hard to mess up good wine.
The atmosphere is still pretty good, the furniture and the ambiance. However, for us it couldn't really save the dinner.
Overall a somewhat disappointing experience, especially...
Read moreLast night, I joined my colleagues for dinner at hotel Atelier, opted for the classic three-course menu. While my colleagues went for the usual option, I chose the vegetarian. The appetizer consisted of delightful roasted carrots dressed in a delectable sauce and accompanied by roasted nuts, which I thoroughly enjoyed. However, I was left somewhat disappointed with the main course, which featured beetroot and cheese as the centerpiece. I had hoped for a more diverse protein source, such as a bean burger, alongside the beetroots and cheese. Having root vegetables for both the appetizer and main course was unexpected. Nevertheless, the exceptional drinks and ambiance, combined with the fantastic appetizer, made for an overall enjoyable...
Read moreA must-try culinary stop in Gothenburg. The restaurant is located on the top floor of the Hotel Pigalle and features a lavish dining room with open kitchen, comfortable couches for cocktails, and an outdoor terrasse in the sun.
The simple menu features excellent Nordic dishes at very competitive prices. I personally went for the 4 course menu (495 SEK) which left me entirely satiated, but not full (you know the feeling).
On top of that, excellent customer service by the waiting staff.
Would definitely come back if in...
