Yalla Habibi — Restaurant in Göteborgs Stad

Overrated!. This word summarises this place. It's location is great as it is near the train station. The food is definitely not worth it. The prices are waaaayy too expensive for the quality of food. I have been twice here as to give it a second chance but I don't think I'll go there again. The first time i ordered a simple chicken shawarma sandwich which didn't really have a great flavour or no flavour at all except sour because of all the lemon that was in it. It doesn't taste like real shawarma. Further more it was pretty expensive and I literally didn't even get a side of fries with it or even some lettuce as garnish for the plate. The next time I was there I ordered the shawarma plate which also didn't taste like shawarma but sour and boiled chicken. The meat was COLD and nobody likes that. Sorry but until they improve their flavour I don't think...

Bad hygine and extremely rude staff!!

I had a complaint about the way they handle the takeaway food, which made me uncomfortable about the hygiene of the restaurant. Whenever I receive my takeaway box, there is this huge hand print in grease on the top of it (they close it with the same greasy glove they use to handle food).

The reason I give 1 star is that when I went to the restaurant one night to order takeaway and present my complaint, the employees mocked me! Saying I'm being obsessed about hygiene (this was before Covid-19 BTW). When I mentioned that I'm a regular but this will make me uncomfortable about coming here again, the guy on the register literally said "Then DON'T come!" So non-hygienic, rude and impolite!...

Imagine my surprise as I order the chuck shawerma and a light sour taste hits my tastebuds. In surprise I ask the staff if the meat was marinated in something sour (like sumak) which it wasn't! So my only conclussion is that the quality and origin of the beef, and the proper cooking technique of the meat causes it to have so much of its juices still in the meat that it has a slight sour flavor all naturally.

Properly treated vegetables. No slippery (pestecide) surface or bitterness on any of the lettuce.

Low sugar content in their dressing judging by the taste....
