We were attracted to this restaurant by its curb appeal. This was a weekday lunchtime. When we walked in, a hostess shoved a lunch menu in my wife's hand and grunted to sit wherever we wanted. We took a table by the windows and waited quite a while for a waiter to finally acknowledge us. He was unable to tell us at all about the beer selections, so we just guessed and ordered two. We also ordered our meals; one pesto pasta with chicken and one filet mignon. When the food came, we had to flag the waiter over again to give us silverware. He said they expect you to get the silverware at the salad bar. He had never told us about a salad bar. When the food came, the pasta dish was great, but the "filet mignon" was two thin tough pieces of pork with a brown gravy. I am not one to send food back because I don't want to have to wait for another dish to be prepared. So I ate the meal. It came with French fries that were great, but the meat was leather tough and pretty tasteless. When the waiter came to clear the plates, I asked him what the dish I had was. He insisted that it was filet mignon and that filet mignon was pork. We asked what the table next to us had, as it had looked like filet mignon. He said that was the beef dish, not the filet mignon. I don't know if the waiter was the problem or if the chef doesn't know what filet mignon is. Every source I could find in a search confirms that filet mignon is beef tenderloin. I pretty much will eat anything and rarely complain about service since I'm retired and rarely in a hurry. But this...
Read moreAvoid. Just very poor quality food, unfortunately. Charged us 28 kr for tap water, too!—that's more than 1£/€ each. Both meals came extremely quickly, so fast that it was a bad sign. Clearly not freshly cooked. The prices were high, too.
We should've read reviews before entering. Won't be making that mistake again. There are so many good places in Göteborg. Just don't go here. Paid more here, even without the water charge, than the previous night at a neighbouring place which was excellent! Tonight was a wasted opportunity to have a great meal in Gothenburg.
My burger was overdone and chewy on the outside and pink on the inside. Clearly the chef just had no idea how to cook it. The "cheddar" was two square slices of cheese from a packet. Heavily sauced, I presume to give it some flavour—the meat had almost none—so much so that it hurt my lips. Swapped to the chips, but they were so heavily salted they also hurt my lips! I left a third of my burger, it was so bad.
Eating out is one of my favourite parts of holidaying. I never leave food, never mind so much. I'm now pretty hungry, shortly before going to bed—still with sore lips.
Leaving 2s, not 1, as my wife's chicken sandwich was ok. Large on quantity, but low on quality, still. The meat was fairly...
Read moreWorst experience in Sweden ever! Please stay away! We are in town for the Gothia Cup, we made a team reservation that was ACCEPTED and was told to place the order by 6pm. We placed the order before 6pm and when we got here at 6:55pm we were told the place the order again.
As I was waiting, I decided to go to the bar to get a drink. 3 white males in our party were independently served while I waited my turn. Before I could open my mouth, the bartender said he absolutely couldn’t serve me and I had to go back to my table. One of my white male colleagues took my credit card and ordered the drink for me. I am a black female. The level of racism and unprofessionalism is uncanny! Good enough to accept my money when it came from a white male, but not from me. Please go anywhere else were you can get good, fast, and equitable service. I have added photo proof so you can see for yourself
Btw- the owner is also the bartender so that will let you know that providing feedback is something he won’t accept. He told another male in our party that he doesn’t have to work so he...
