Restaurang Athena — Restaurant in Göteborgs Stad

I ate at this restaurant many years ago, probably 7-8 years ago and remembered the incredible food. We have been here several times before and I have always left so satisfied.

Finally the time came when we could eat here again and we were going to visit Gothenburg two weekends in a row because we were going to Håkan Hellström concerts.

We chose tapas the first weekend and the following week we had tapas there again on both thursday and friday.

I think the food is so good that you really should go to Gothenburg just to eat at Athena.

The service is impeccable and the food is absolutely magical. I will be back next time we go to Gothenburg....

The waiter was very rude. Moved us from our table to another table because "we were sitting on a 4person table while we were two people", he said. While there were many other people of 2 sitting at tables of 4 and nobody bothered them, and there were still other tables of four available. The place was also not crowded or the tables were not reserved or anything.... The waiter did not even apologize for moving us and his tone was just rude. I felt discriminated by this action and did not enjoy my experience, eventhough the food was ok. Never...

We were a party of five, pretty hungry. Staff was friendly and tried hard although with mixed results. It was a busy Wednesday night (called Little Saturday in Sweden) and we had to wait for everything: table, menus, drinks, attention, food but, believe me or not, it was pleasent anyway.

The food was good but not mind blowing. The prices were very decent! They do main courses and tapas (great choice for those indecisive). I was happy to see little mussaka which I really wanted to try but not in main course size.
