Schnitzelplatz Lagerhuset — Restaurant in Göteborgs Stad

A perfect place for a Schnitzel in Gotenburg, with also gluten-free options.

We visited this place based on Google Maps recommendations and it was fantastic. We arrived half an hour before the kitchen closed but the waiter patiently took an order. As in many places on Sweden they have a menu where you select a plate and the price includes salad buffet, bread, coffee and cookies.

The buffet was well stocked, the bread was delicious and the different plates we ordered (mostly Wiener Schnitzel) were great.

Some of our group are coeliac and cannot take gluten, but there were many gluten-free options, including the Schnitzel! The gluten-free Schnitzel was quite good and it lasted less than 5 minutes on the plate.

There were not many people inside, probably due to the time. We took our time for lunch (over one hour) and were not rushed at any point.

A quirky and charming restaurant with a well thought out menu. The staff was friendly and attentive from the get go with a relaxed attitude adding to the warm atmosphere of this place. The menu is short and sweet. You can only get schnitzel as main course but the selection and differing sides that accompany the dishes gives, imo, something to choose for even picky eaters. The range is complete from veal and turkey but also vegetarian (vegan?) options. Drinks selection are well pared to the food and again, there's a little bit of this and that giving you a good variety to pick from. Prices are moderate and portion sizes bountiful so all in all well worth it. Location inside an old historical building just a stone toss from Järntorget seals the deal for those who prefer to travel by tram. No designated...

Hands down best schnitzels in town! I personally love the veal schnitzel!

The beer selection may appear a tad small compared to the many other beer places in the vicinity. But I think that what they might lack in quantity they make up for in quality. I've also heard rumors that they might start serving their own house beer. Looking forward to that!

The staff is super friendly and chatty, and I've learnt from them, among other things, to appreciate the humble uniqueness of the unpasteurized Pilsner Urquell. The distribution and the in-venue tanks and tapping alone is quite amazing. This is, from what I understand, one very few places in Sweden where unpasteurized Pilsner Urquell is served in the "proper"...
