Extremely hard to understand why this is rated soo high. If you're expecting anything close to Italian, this is clearly not the place to go. There's nothing Italian to this place, even considering that is an insult, even Italian fusion would be an insult. I ordered cod, reasoning that, due to being in Gothenburg it would be fresh. WRONG! So, to begin with, the essential, food. Defrosted cod! My oh my! An absolute crime, Mamma Mia! Not skinned, come on!, it's a wannabe upscale place, I mean, it was half skinned. Either you don't skin the cod, and you must have an extremely good reason not to in the preparation, or, skin it all, not half skin it, in a preparation that clearly should be non-skinned. The lime for the cod was dry, old, zero juice, tiny. Put two slices, won't break the aesthetics. One single cherry tomato, not Spanish nor Italian, 100% sure. Dutch or Swedish. Sorry to be so brutally honest, but cherry tomatoes not from Spain or Italy are absolutely tasteless, please, just try this taste experiment at home. Also, at least slice it in half, one fresh wild-oregano small-leaf on top, one drop of olive oil.
The contorni!, patate al profumo di tartufo, OK, "al profumo", but, not even!, zero profumo, not to talk of null taste of tartufo.
The ambience?, stiff, pretentious, odd that it's so popular. All the diners must at least have been once to Italy, how can they not notice how bad it is?
The price was OK for Sweden, 40 Euros including Menabrea beer (The only plus. That one they can't screw up even if they try), cheap for Swedish prices.
Save yourself a gigantic deception and never ever ever take "la tua sorella a...
Read moreThe restaurant is quite cozy with a great ambience. We were welcomed by a very friendly waitress but when we were served our appetizers, I asked the waiter if he could take a picture of us since we were celebrating a birthday in the group and he said he couldn't do it at the moment. It was understandable as they were just two people waiting all the tables at the restaurant but it was during the week and clicking a picture will not take more than just a few seconds. He also served us some wine without offering to taste it before pouring it to the mark, while he clearly did the opposite for the tables around us. So, maybe it was an off day for him but it's personally a complete experience that matters to me when it comes to being at a restaurant.
The food was absolutely delicious and really well presented too. The pasta was delicious and super fresh. They have a good selection of wine and the service is pretty quick. I had a Tiramisu for desserts but it was a disappointment as it was quite dry and didn't seem to be fresh. Overall a good experience and would definitely recommend the restaurant if you like...
Read moreThe food can be good and the lunch menu is great value for the quality. However the staff are consistently inattentive and occasionally outright rude (noted over several visits).
On one recent visit we asked for a vegetarian lunch (there were no options on the menu) and the only thing they could offer was a cheeseless pizza. We watched as the pizza was prepared and served ready for wait staff to take. We watched the waitress question something with the chef. We watched the chef take the pizza back into the kitchen. We watched him return it again, and be brought to the table. We checked and found that the chef had prepared a non-vegetarian pizza by mistake, and then when questioned, attempted to hide it with further toppings. The waitress and chef was indifferent to this error and while they provided another pizza (after being asked specifically), there was no apology or goodwill gesture. I appreciate ‘vegetarian’ can be tricky, but this is terrible behaviour from any restaurant. I expect better treatment from...
