Aleks y Filip - Spansk restaurang — Restaurant in Stockholm

I had very high hopes for the food but I was a bit underwhelmed as a Spanish food lover.

Gamba rojas: it was basically peeled raw shrimps with sauces, was hoping for a grilled version.

Pulpo: grilled octopus was quite finely chopped with a bit fusion spin with some green onion, a bit too sweet for our taste.

Paella with seafood: it’s pretty well made. Can’t complain.

Tuna tartar: comes in as a big rolled up piece instead of minced, stuffed with pickled onion. Interesting but a bit hard to cut up and share with a party.

Margarita: margarita was quite good. Not white, not red. Rosé color.

Pork belly: flavor ok but a bit hard to chew.

Clams: we ordered them but they never came. They look so good in the photos

Dessert: very good desserts! The cheesecake is a must-try!

Overall I think if you are in the mood to try Spanish food with a spin, you’re in the right place but not for someone who wants to have authentic...

The food here was excellent. I had the beef tartare as a starter followed by lamb as my main. Both were excellent. Lamb was perfectly cooked, and soft.

The cheesecake wasn’t bad but mediocre. Not up to par with the best cheesecakes I’ve had at Spanish restaurants. I’d give it 4.5/5 for food.

The service was a shortcoming. While all the waiters seemed to be working very hard and running around to attend all the tables, there simply weren’t enough of them. They seemed really stretched, which made it difficult to get service between dishes to be a challenge. I had to wait a while after my last meal and dessert. The service I received was courteous and pleasant, but the staff ratios were subpar for the level of attention required. Can’t blame the waiters, who were working very hard, but management should take notice.

This place ROCKS - highly recommend and will definitely be back!! Cozy setting as soon as you arrive; wonderful staff that is super attentive; beautifully decorated and a great vibe for a date night, birthday celebration or first date. We enjoyed our visit because the food was super flavorful and delicious - love that they made their own twist on an already flavor packed cuisine. Aleks and Filip are AMAZING hosts and make you feel like family - they have a great thing going and I recommend you go whenever you can get a reservation! The Paella was so good and loved the croquettes, shrimp and steak was cooked perfectly!
