We visited Bar Central to try their popular schnitzel and were pleased to be greeted warmly and given the option to dine indoors or outdoors. We chose outdoors seating, which unfortunately was not great because it is located right next to a very busy and unpleasant street. But that was only an appetizer for a bit of an overall downer.
Once seated, it was as if the staff entirely forgot about us. We were ignored when trying to seek eye contact with staff and had to yell for them to get to order food. And sure, the cordon bleu was a creamy treat while the wienerschnitzel came off a bit dry next to similarly dry sides - the salad was a well-needed refresher. After having been served food, we were still struggling to call for both drink refills and the tab. In the end, we felt we had to physically move indoors to the cash register to be able pay our tab. This inattention by the staff, compared to the price point, put a damper on an otherwise delicious meal.
Bar Central may rival other Stockholm locations when it comes to schnitzel, but good service is critical if you want me to come back.
Edit: According to the venue's response, even with a reservation I am supposed to expect poor service at the same price point if I choose to be seated outdoors, an option suggested to me by the staff themselves without mentioning this particular caveat. The joke's on...
   Read moreI took a cordon bleu. The potato was basic very basic, the cordon bleu was overcooked and full of water when you open it. So the crusts was or super hard or wet.
The salad was in my taste was disgusting. They put a cheese that have no taste and the texture of mayo on it. You eat a super heavy meal and you make the salads heavy too.
Itâs just lack of balance.
The waiter who took my complain didnât say sorry he just became defensive and disappeared. No discussion to understand what went wrong. I think pretty sad when you pay 350 for a meal that is not good. And for a restaurant who try to look fancy.

Jag har sjÀlv jobbat golv pÄ en studentpub en gÄng i tiden och vet vilken fruktansvÀrt idiotisk kombination glassplitter och mÀnniskor med alkohol i blodet Àr, att detta inte togs mer seriöst var hÀpnadsvÀckande.
NÀr vi skulle betala tyckte sÀllskapet att den av apparaten insisterade miniminivÄn pÄ 10% dricks var lite vÀl mycket för den service vi hade upplevt, men nÀr vi försökte fÄ personen som tog betalt av oss att förstÄ att vi visst ville betala dricks men inte 10% utan snarare en nivÄ vi hade valt sjÀlva sÄ antingen hörde han inte vad vi sa pÄ grund av ljudvolymen, eller sÄ var han sÄ stressad att han inte hade tid för det.
Okej, vi ville ge er personal nÄgot men nu fick ni 0% dricks för att han avslutade transaktionen innan vi kunde göra det. Skyll er sjÀlva, I guess?
