Barrels Burgers & Beer — Restaurant in Stockholm

The service was fast, polite and friendly, seated and served in a couple of minutes, great there 👌🏻

Perhaps I arrived with very high expectations, I ordered the hamburger of the month (03/2023) seeing that they made it with a donut and I love that combination, but I honestly expected something more..

The meat was fine, without crust and very soft from salting but correct. The bread, or rather the donut!! the reason that took me there was good, it wasn't the fluffiest (it's a burger joint, not a bakery) that I've tried but it was good, the chili suited it well 👌🏻. The toppings: Fruity red onion marmelade, too sweet for my taste. Bacon creamcheese was too much cream and too mild in taste. Cheddar, always delivering..

The combination of hamburger and donut is one of my favorites and for me the key is finding a good balance between sweet and salty, making them complement each other and in this case it didn't happen, it was a sweet donut, slightly salty meat, onion jam sweet, barely noticeable creamy bacon and cheese.. too sweet and unbalanced.. I understand that not all people have the same taste, but a 4/5 I think is fair.. hope to come back soon and try more burgers so I can give...

This was my third time tying Barrels and I’m convinced I won’t be back.

The service is good and people seem to be enjoying themselves here; good atmosphere.

The food sounds better on the menu but disappointing to taste. Somehow the burgers and sandwiches I’ve had were all lacking. They did not have much flavor nor that extra kick you’d expect after reading the description. Both meat and chicken varieties were unfortunately bland and come with a bit too much bread (thick buns) sometimes.

I really wanted to sink my teeth into what sounded like a juicy spicy buffalo chicken sandwich with ranch but what I got was a soggy baguette with almost no ranch and sticky bland chicken; zero spicy hot flavor made even flavorless by the thick baguette.

Street burger? Couldn’t feel that burger sauce.

Triple smash? Sadly not much flavor packed into their biggest burger.

Southern fried chicken? No real chilliness to counteract the coleslaw.

I’ve tried but I’ve left disappointed each time. I even had two burgers once just to try and have a nice flavor experience, still left disappointed.

The staff/service did help keep things positive...

3rd experience with Barrels, after visiting the one at centralen twice.

Wasnt the ideal experience, but it happens from time to time so understandable.

Ordered the blooming onion, spicy chicken buffalo sandwich, and a side of fries.

First of all, onion was not fully "blooming". The batter was well fried on the outside. However, closed onion made the inside raw and spicy. It was a shame, especially given that they usually execute the dish very well.

Secondly, the burger/sandwich was definitely "stockholm price". 164 kr for a baguette with well flavoured chicken and some avocado, lettuce, and tomato. Taste was good, but texture was lacking. The fried chicken was half chicken half batter, additionally, no crispness due to the oil/sauce overkill. Wasn't the worst meal I had, but certainly not worth 164 kr. Fries were great; classic fries with good aioli dip.

The waiter was very open to feedback though. He took the onion off our order and was very honest and sincere. In short,...
