This review is for the DoMa room - which requires a set menu that you do not know in advance but they clearly state that they are happy to accommodate dietary changes. Myself and two others of the party are lactose intolerant but had reviewed the general menu and most items were not an issue so didnt have any concerns in booking.
Of the 7 dishes of the night most were not lactose friendly so had "substitutions" which is usually never an issue. I assumed we would simply get another option from the menu or if they could substitute for another ingredient they would do so. Instead we had several occasions where things were just not included making for a very boring and sometimes bitter experience - e.g. others received tempura, mascarpone stuffed zucchini flowers on top of a tomato and zucchini plate - we received a very bitter with no tempura and no stuffing zucchini flower (despite every other dish on the a la carte menu not having lactose, they could have just switched out the dish); instead of getting a ravioli dish we received a plate of mushrooms, beets, and haricot verts in plain butter - utterly tasteless; for the main they had selected the pig with creamy parmesan polenta and cream sauce, again several other mains on the menu that could have worked perfectly but we instead received the pig with some sad boiled potatoes and no sauce. Only saving graces were the snacks where we received the same items as everyone else and the dessert...
Read moreDoma is fine. We were at the bar and took 3 starters and 3 small dishes. "Kungsfisk" and the surf n turf were great. Starters not so much. I mean for what you get this is an expensive place. Most of the starters are tiny and overpriced. The tuna bonito comes with two small pieces of bread and a pretty reasonably sized can of delicious tuna. For it to match you're expected to load big pile of tuna on the small pieces of bread and eat it like that. Like i said it's fine, but the value proposition is not that great for a fusion style place with "to share" dishes. Hopefully the restaurant...
Read moreWe were here to enjoy a seven course dinner. The food was delicious, but unfortunately the service was not up to the standards.
We had to wait long periods between the courses which meant that not everybody of us had time to eat all the courses, as our dinner thus took much longer than planned. I would like to add that the restaurant was not busy and we were the only ones having seven...
