This restaurant deserves 6 stars. I visited twice while in Stockholm. The second night I had the Char and it was in the most exquisite cream sauce. Best meal ever. I started with a cocktail called Polar Ice which is a lingonberry and vodka drink, which has both lingonberry liquor and pressed lingonberry juice. It was outstanding. The previous night I had veal in an awesome mushroom sauce with the most delicious gratin potatoes. The veal was so tender. It came med. rare but I would have preferred medium The chef really knows how to make a sauce and they do say it is Swedish food with French influence. This has to be the best restaurant in Stockholm and the price is really reasonable for what you receive. The managers and wait staff could not be nicer. I would come back to Stockholm just to eat here once again and try another dish! If you like fish and cream sauces... order the Char....incredible! Also the several cave like rooms are so charming but we ate outside one night and that was great also. I cannot recommend this place more....did I say I would give it 6 stars out of 5....make it 10 out of 5. I'm from California and I've visited France many times. Trust me....if you come to Stockholm, this is a must. Right in the old town Gamla Stan. Oh and the best Swedish meatballs also!! I wish...

This is a tourist trap! I visited this place on last Sunday and it was the worst service I experience anywhere during my travels. I was there with a friend. At the beginning waiter brought us empty glasses for water. We ordered one starter, one main and beers. They brought basked with amazing Swedish bread. We started eating it. After several minutes we asked for beer just to hear that they completely forgot about it. They brought it promptly. My started came. It was a cold dish so I expected we will need to wait longer for the meatballs. What I didn’t know is that waiter did not understand or want to understand, or simply remember that we wanted to get both dishes served at the same time. It wasn’t strange for them that 2 people come in just to take turns in staring how the other person eats. I finished my starter and nothing happened. We had to explicitly (again) ask them to bring us the food. When meatballs arrived, mashed potatoes were just warm. We finished the food and left. Leaving was probably what I enjoyed the most. Do you remember the water I mentioned at the beginning? Don’t worry, waiter didn’t...

In short, even though the food was fine, we waited 40 minutes for our table, were treated in a condescending manner by the main waitress and our wine and dessert were partially forgotten.

We ordered the given menus including minced lobster and raindeer as main courses. These were exceptionally well prepared and presented - a true delight for the mouth. Sadly, the food was the only positive aspect of our visit.

The condescending waitress did nothing to improve our visit. The other waitors were rushing around and obviously covered more guests than they should have while still remainkng friendly though. They are clearly understaffed. The wine, which was supposed to be served along with the different courses, was always served late. The desert was almost forgotten, as it took them two hours to prepare and serve the first two courses.

For a restaurant in this price range, poor service is not appreciated at all. We wondered why the poor attitude of the main waitress is tolerated by the owners.

In general not...

This restaurant was recommended by the concierge at the Grand Hotel and it turned out to be the perfect choice for our last dinner in Stockholm. We had Skagen toast for starter to share and veal and swedish traditional meatballs for main and also some dessert. Skagen toast was cooked to perfection and we would have orderd one more if we hadn't already ordered our desserts. Veal with morelle sauce was delish, very soft and juicy. It came with sliced potato gratin in cream sauce, absolutely yum! Traditional meatballs with mashed potato was also more than wonderful especially the sauce. I ordered creme brulee for dessert and our waiter told me it was a good choice, his personal favorite. All in all, I just want you to forget the 1 or 2 star reviews. Don't bother and just opt for it! You will not regret it.

Someone told me the name means something like "many small rooms," or something similar. If that's true, this place lives up to it's name. I never would've guessed there was a delightful little restaurant in this place. It looks just like a little sidewalk cafe from the outside, with a bar just through the door. Past that bar, and down some steps, the place really opens up to a great space, with many rooms. Our group tried a lot of the offerings, and was happy with them all. The Char, and the meatballs were top-notch. The ribeye and the reindeer were good too. Pricing seemed to be about average, but the real treat was out server. Good attitude, good sense of humor and good recommendations! Unfortunately, I can't remember his name, but he loves Die Hard, so that's also a plus.

Great experience. Very nice ambience and tidy place even though it is from the 16th century. Friendly hosts - In face when I enquired more about the restaurant, they explained us a bit of history and also asked to us check out different others chambers downstairs which were very nice. Food was all very much to perfection. Swedish menu so you will find meat and fish and not chicken. Good veg option. The person serving us was always checking out if we need anything or had any questions or if all was good. We went with reservation so I would recommend to go with booking. In deserts, the home made truffles we had very amazing. Prices are definitely on the higher side but are worth it for the taste and service. Definitely recommended for a special occasion or to make one!
