The Italian wine bar, where sophistication meets the subtlety of a sledgehammer.
Picture this: I booked a table for two, thinking we could enjoy a delightful glass of their wine before a fancy dinner across the street. Little did I know, this place has a special rulebook thicker than their lasagna. Apparently, you can only reserve a table if you plan to feast like it's the Last Supper. I must have missed the memo on the hidden "bar area" where you can just sip some vino without a side of linguini.
But wait, it gets better! The owner/one of their staff decided to put a caricature artist to shame, and educate us on the art of hospitality. He 'gently' informed us, and the neighbouring tables, that they primarily serve guests at tables who are interested in dining, and there were others eagerly waiting for their turn. So we needed to LEAVE. I couldn't help but admire his passion for ensuring everyone had a shot at their culinary wonders. 🍷
With that said, however, they do have a lovely selection of wine, which makes you wonder why they're so keen on kicking you out. It's almost like they're saying, "Here's some amazing wine, now get out!" Because #WineNot
In the grand scheme of things, it's a unique experience, I must say. If you're ever in the mood for a lesson in dining dynamics and enjoy your wine with a side of, well, drama, this place is an absolute must-visit. Bravo, Italian wine bar, for adding a touch of theater to our evening. 🍷🎭
Disclaimer: We do appreciate good wine, and they have plenty of that. It's just their "special" way of serving it that left...

It was just like being in Tuscany again (I am from there), with tasty cheeses, salami, and a wonderful porchetta (roasted pork). I loved the tiramisú and I am thankful for a very professional service. I recommend Garage del Gusto if you are looking for great Italian food and want nothing but compliments from...
