Hotel Diplomat Restaurant — Restaurant in Stockholm

Even though the hotel itself is a 5 star joint, you can not same about the restaurant. The staff didn't have a clue how restaurants work. The aperitives were served after the starters were brought to the table. The wines after the main course was brought. We asked for separate bills, but the waiter just split it in half. Nobody asked if everything was alright, and the waiter didn't thank us for coming or welcomed us to come again. You would expect waaay better service in a place like this. Very dissappointing lunch experience. With an upscale setting and hefty pricing a place like this should deliver a nice food experience. We had fish of the day on March 16th and to quote my business partner - "I've heated frozen fish sticks that turned out tastier". Diplomat served a fried cod that was dry and seemed oven baked rather. Tasteless, way undersalted. The fish was accompagined by a greasy mash, again undersalted, and a tasteless emulsion sauce. Then comes the bill and they charge 168 SEK for three glasses of water, which just adds a bad taste to the whole experience. Don't waste your taste buds or cash...

Visiting beautiful capital, we didnt want to stop at the elegant restaurant for meatballs dish, thus,we decided to try something different. My attention was taken by the cod with shimps and delicious dip. Our butler was great Hasim on his very first day of work, and his assistance was on a high level. The food was very tasty and lovely decorated As a fantastic ending of this adventure was the fact, that the dinner was paid by somebody unknown. Hasim and the team couldn point that person.
