We enjoyed a typical Northern Sweden dinner here near the train station. The cozy venue is protected by a moose head and sports a chandelier made of many antlers. Our appetizer is usually a northern meat like moose with mushroom rolled into meatballs and the chef prepared them by substituting vegetable and flour ingredients for a vegan in our group. For mains, the vegan option centered on carrots, potatos and veggies. Others opted for the Arctic char fish complemented with mashed potatos and topped with Orange roe that perfectly prepared and presented. Red currant juices fresh and flavorful. We also tried Pernod diluted with sparkling water For desert, we chose the most Swedish option and a vegan choice of lingonberry sorbet with lingonberry sauce. Absolutely delicious with a great blend of tart with a touch of sweetness. The upscale ambiance manages to include antler chandelie, stuffed falcon and the protective Moose head Excellent personal attention through the meal. After we finished our meal we learned that they have a lower floor with fewer tables and quieter ambiance. Our area was quiet when we arrived about 615pm and noise picked up as the place filled due to friendly conversation. Menus are white carsick with dark letters and readable. Read moreI made a reservation for October 28, 2025, but accidentally chose the wrong branch. I tried calling the restaurant several times, but no one answered. I also sent an email, which was only replied to the next day.
Despite that, I decided to visit anyway after a long trip in the rain — with a baby stroller — because I was genuinely curious about the place. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing.
Although I had clearly mentioned in my reservation that I would be coming with a baby, the waitress greeted me with an unfriendly attitude. When I said hello, she simply replied “I’m fine” without even returning the greeting. She then told me that since I came with a baby, I should have booked a table for three people — even though I already had a confirmed reservation noting that.
She pointed me to a narrow space next to the bar that was impossible to sit in, especially with a stroller. When we tried, she made no effort to help and even told us to “come another day or come without the baby.”
I found this behavior unacceptable and rude. After traveling in the rain to reach the restaurant, being treated this way was truly shocking. Such arrogant service has no place in a country as friendly as Sweden. A...
Read moreTL;DR: good for older folks who want a high-quality meal/delicacies, are trying to exercise portion control, and aren't worried about price. Bad for a young traveler trying to find a full meal for a relatively decent price (yes I know Sweden is expensive)
The food was good and the staff were great. If you want to taste reindeer (only in tiny portions with an appetizer, not in any main courses) or eat moose this is the place to go. However, the meal portion of the menu is limited to 4 or 5 different options and the portions are small for the price, even for Sweden. The first picture is their sampler appetizer that includes reindeer, it cost 175 SEK or $25 US; eating my half was about the same as eating 1 slice of sandwich bread. The second picture is their moose steak and was 205 SEK or $28 US, good in quality but again low in quantity because...
