A very positive experience that I can recommend!
Hattori has been around for some years, but haven't lost any of its mojo. First thing when you enter is a stylish interior and good staff, who feel very genuine.
Most important is the sushi, tried the warm rolls of which were very well made - of course this is a bit Western inspired sushi, but sushi is a very wide range of experiences, and this is one of them and they do it well within this genre.
Vegetable tempura was also very tasty, perhaps it could be less battered - like in Japan, here the western approach is not a benefit - but in defense the taste of vegetables was still well preserved.
A couple of nice Japanese beers on the menu as well, these might not be the best beers as standalone, but they do fit the menu quite well.
Overall a very good experience that deserves the 5 stars I give it, maybe it would be a 4.7 if Google allow decimals, which is...
Read moreThis restaurant is not authentic. Some form of deranged fusion food… please don’t call it Japanese. I’ve lived in Japan for long enough to know my tamari from my shoyu. The reviews for this place are truly perplexing…
The sushi in this place is doused in mayonnaise and sweet sauces to the point where all that is left on your palate is sugar and grease. The delicate flavours of the fish and the seasoned rice are entirely lost. The same with the fried chicken baos. Slobbered in utterly sweet, sugary glaze. It’s the old restaurant trick… hide mediocrity behind sugar and fat. I guess that’s good enough to fool the average Stockholm tourist.
When I pointed this out to the waiter, he unapologetically argued. Shambolic attitude. Taking feedback shouldn’t be this difficult. Decent decor and interiors though.
SEK 1400 spent on 4 small dishes and 2 sushi rolls. No drinks....
Read moreI respect the rules of the restaurant if they do not want dogs inside, but yesterday's situation was unpleasant. We came to the restaurant and asked for a table outside because we had a dog (a dachshund) with us, but they said that if we wanted we could sit at a table near the entrance inside. My dog barked, after which I saw the look on the staff's face and what they were saying about us and we decided to move to the street, to which the staff said "I also think it would be better this way. I'll bring you some pillows." Then she came out and said that we could not sit outside for some unreasonable reason. In the end, she directly told us that she would not serve us. It was very unprofessional to seat us at a table, give us a menu, and then after some time inform us that we would not be served at all because...
