Disappointed! On Saturday afternoon, before starting work, I visited the Beyond Retro store in Uppsala, where everything seemed to be discounted to 149 kronor, if I’m not mistaken. I found two pairs of jeans, but when I approached the checkout, I was informed that the fitting rooms were closed for an unspecified reason. I was then suggested to try on the pants somewhere in the back, between the clothing racks. I had never heard a more ridiculous suggestion in my life. I was assured that if the jeans didn’t fit, I could return them. So, I paid and left.
Upon returning to Stockholm, I tried them on at home and realized they were too small. With the receipt in hand, I went to the Beyond Retro store on Drottninggatan in Stockholm to return them. To my surprise, the cashier and another employee first asked where the tags were. There were no tags, but the anti-theft devices had been removed by the salesperson in Uppsala. I was then told that I could not return the jeans because the store policy does not allow returns on vintage items.
I responded by explaining that the salesperson in Uppsala had assured me that, due to the closed fitting rooms, I had 14 days to return them if they didn’t fit. The employee in Stockholm was rather unfriendly and refused both the return and an exchange, simply stating that it wasn’t their fault that I had been misinformed. When I asked for their name and the contact information of their supervisor so I could report the situation, they outright refused to provide it.
To make matters worse, the employee in Stockholm even called the Uppsala store to verify my claim, as they did not believe that the fitting rooms had been closed. The salesperson in Uppsala confirmed that they had indeed been unavailable, proving that my statement was accurate.
This isn’t about the 300 kronor—it’s about the way I was treated. Ultimately, I ended up donating two pairs of jeans to the store on...

Here, it is an alternative to “regular” boutiques, they have a vast selection, and very unique pieces. Definitely recommended, huge floor, friendly staff, and nice...
