the room is same as what it stated.
Hotel Location - it is suggested to check in advance the nearest exist if you take any train. since the road is not flat, it is not very easy to carry a big suitcase. for returning back to airport, there is a commute train which is pretty close to airport!
restaurant or city centre location - situated in city centre, it is easy to access which is good to me. there are lots of restaurant around the corner (Thail, cafe, dessert, convenient store etc).
Room - bed is big enough and comfortable but the footpath is blocked once placing a standard size suitcase. there is no available for boiling water nor coffee/ tea. Room rate already included daily breakfast.
cleaning - this is ON REQUEST (a day before 11am) or every 5 days because of saving environment. even though I request on the day, the staff is nicely helped but need specifically request to clean up the room but not just cleaning the bin to avoid any miscommunication.
there are 2 small bedside to place your stuff and lights are bright enough.
Toilet , sink and bath area are accepted. sink are big enough to wash clothes and room got enough hangers as well which helped my entire trip a lot.
air con is needed to warm up but not Cool immediately.
there is no window (as stated when I applied) BUT there is a little E-window on ceiling
staff is nice and friendly. it would be great if the staff could clearly tell the customer how / which exit / which building / which route is the nearest to the hotel which might safe some time as it could easily wipe off the memory after spending amount of time after leaving the metro station.
somehow one day morning, there is no power on the 1 street for couple hrs. but it doesn't likely to appear all the time from what I've heard from the receptionist in this hotel and my Swedish friend.
overall, If you do not need much of the facilities and little hand carry bag and wish to stay close city centre, it is suggested to stay...
Read moreOur family of 4 had a 5-day stay at this hotel. I will break this review into pros and cons to help others decide.
Pros: *Location - 10 min to Central station, 15-20 min to Gamla Stan, 3min to central street and many breakfast places Lockers available for suitcases if you arrive early/catch a later flight/ train
Cons: *Check-in time at the booking site was 3pm, a few days before travelling I received an email that check-in was 4pm. I did check in online few days in advance. The girl at the "front desk" kept saying 4pm latest. When I went there at 4pm again, room was miraculously available and a guy at the front desk this time was surprised that I did not get any notification. Long story short if they are checking in by 4pm, all booking sites should be stating the same time. *Very noisy at night - ongoing construction beware !! They start with the drilling noises at 7:40 am in the morning and depending on the location of your room (ours was 227) you might wake up with excrutiating headache. Also, we could hear all noses from the upper floor and the rooms next to us. No cleaning service unless you pay 99 swedish krones per cleaning, which, again, we were not notified for at the time of booking. I don't believe I ever stayed in a hotel that charges extra for cleaning service. Very small rooms. We were in a room with 2 full beds joined in a queen bed and 2 bunk beds. No shelves, no cabinets, no drawers, no seating. Swedish simplified design to an extent you don't want to stay in your room. *Laundry machine left clothes wet after the drying cycle *Toilet seat was too high. Our room was handicap equipped and not suitable for our two children
The aftermath - it's ok for 1-2 days stay, for young people without kids, people who are ok with no human interaction upon check-in or online check-in only. Hope this review helps you to make an informed decision about your...
Read moreI really enjoyed my stay at the Scandic go. My room was lovely and spotlessly clean, it felt very modern and the bathroom was a decent size. Only a 10 minute walk to the station and really close to lots of great restaurants and shops. The check in process was really quick and easy. They texted me the day before my stay with some helpful information which was handy too. The staff were very friendly and the lobby area was always very clean and welcoming. A lot of negative reviews are about how basic the rooms are, which I think is to be expected at the price point - ideal if you’re just needing somewhere to stay and nothing too fancy (e.g a desk or tea and coffee station in the room). Room had a hair dryer, a safe, some hangers, two duvets, a fan and a heater - but was a perfect temperature so no need for either. The curtains were also very black out which was nice. Both sides of the bed had two plugs, as well as 2 USB ports which was handy if you didn’t have an adapter with you. There are laundry facilities downstairs, lockers as well as somewhere to buy food. ||The only feedback I had was that one of the plugs in my room was temperamental and I couldn’t always get my phone to charge from it. I also found that when people on my floor closed their doors, they would slam (as the door closers were quite strong - I accidentally slammed mine a couple of times too) and it would rattle my door which woke me up a few times as it sounded like someone was trying to open my door - they weren’t it just sounded like it. Other than that the hotel was very quiet and I wasn’t bothered at all by any...
