Mae Thai Skanstull — Restaurant in Stockholm

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST. EVITATE QUESTO POSTO!!!! We arrive and ask some normal question like “do you speak English?” and what kind of noodles did they have. The lady at the counter was SO RUDE. She talk very bad to us, her attitude was very rude and make people uncomfortable. When she call you for your order she scream and you don’t understand anything. I understood “pad Thai” and don’t see anyone waiting so I genuinely thought it was mine. She gave it to me in a plate, even if she never asked if we want to stay or go. I assumed that it was normal (we wanted to stay). While I was waiting, another girl approaches the counter and start waiting too , when the lady made a take away bag I was sure that it’s not mine but at the end we figure out the take away bag was for me, and the first pad Thai in the plate was for the other girl!!!! My bf was already eating that and he noticed too late that the meat was not beef as I order but chicken and the lady has to take our pad Thai with beef. I felt bad because I didn’t want to have my lunch ruined and have to argue with the girl who was very disappointed even though it was not our fault!!! I understand that you can’t remember all the order you took but we were the only foreigners in the queue I was in front of her waiting, why not tell me that this is not my plate ? The worst thing is that we spent 40€ (396 SEK) for two pad Thai, 2 spring rolls and 2 pieces of fried chicken. Pad Thai seemed like cup noodles that you can buy at the supermarket, but the dish in general was not that bad, chicken was not bad too but I can’t finish eating it , it was too oily and leave a yellow mark everywhere. Had a bad experience here for lunch. The service of the lady taking orders was horrible and did not seem very happy to be taking orders from customers at all. When I ordered for our group I mentioned that one of us had a nut allergy, she could hardly care less about this and gave us a "tough luck" kind of response. When we asked if they could be a little more careful with that specific dish she clearly really did not care. Look, i get that its hard to be accommodating to all customers but we were really only asking if this was possible and to show some empathy towards our situation. Still one of my favorite hole in the wall food locations in any modern city. I come here at least once every time I visit Stockholm every few years (I wish they had something like it in the SF Bay Area!). In a city where you can easily spend $15-$25 for lunch and not get much food, you can get a lunch with soft drink for less than $10 and a dinner for $12 (USD) that tastes great and you could have leftovers. I love when a small business fills a void and as a result becomes incredibly successful. Mai Thai is still fantastic after all...
