A pungent fermented smell fills the air of the shop on entering. It was a weekend, the shop had some customers but not too crowded so we decided to give the food a try anyway.
The food left us very thirsty and moody the rest of the day even after drinking lots of water. This has happened before with food that uses a lot of MSG.
We had 🔸️2A. Phở - Rice noodles soup with sliced beef fillet 👍👍 When piping hot, the soup has notes of preseved mustard greens. The dish edible, the beef is fresh and soft with no sinews but is loaded with flavor enhances which left my mouth with a dry feel.
🔸️3A. Bún thịt nướng - cold rice-vermicelli noodle topped with grilled pork 👍 Ordered this as we were told that fried spring rolls are not available on weekends. The dish is below average and the small pieces of grilled pork were cold and tasteless.
🔸️5A. Gỏi cuốn - Vietnamese spring rolls with prawns 👎 Taste was bland and a let down. Warping was not of restaurant quality. It was loose and the ingredients spilled out easily.
🔸️Vietnamese Ice coffee with condensed milk 👍👍👍 Decent drink. Coffee is strong and mixed with sweet condensed milk.
Service was quick and the staff friendly. Shop is not so clean and untidy. Tables are abit of a squeeze. The pungent smell hangs on the clothes after the visit....
Read moreCame here to try their banh mi, and to be honest—it was pretty mediocre. From the texture of the baguette to the flavor of the meat, nothing really stood out. While I do appreciate the generous portion of meat and vegetables, the sandwich was quite dry overall and didn’t hit the spot for my banh mi craving. That said, my husband really enjoyed the meat, so perhaps it just comes down to personal taste. If I lived nearby, I might stop by occasionally. But considering the number of authentic and flavourful Vietnamese restaurants out there, I wouldn’t go out of my way to return. It’s okay, but there are definitely better options...
Read moreThe banh mi cha lua and goi cuon here is authentic and delicious. I was stuck in Norway with no Vietnamese food for over a week and was so happy to finally get to Stockholm to experience Thi Thi Baguette. The banh mi was hefty, delicious, and full of flavor. The fish sauce with the goi cuon made me nostalgic for home. Service was so nice. I would've come back if I was in Stockholm longer but the banh mi raised my spirits while traveling to Helsinki and back to the United States. Will come back when I visit Stockholm again and would recommend to any one looking for legitimate banh mi...
