Café Bar Pförtnerhaus — Restaurant in Basel

I ordered a Purple Veg Croffle and a homemade ice tea. The Croffle had Hummus & Feta on top with a sprinkle of beetroot. It was very delicious, I‘d order it again! I definitely recommend it - even the dough was very interesting, as it consists of a mixture of waffle and croissant. It‘s a bit lighter than your typical waffle dough.

The side salad was delicious, too, with a great sauce and salad seeds.

The homemade ice tea wasn‘t my cup of tea, unfortunately, so I wouldn‘t order that again.

The service was great and I loved the atmosphere - it almost seems like you‘re on holiday! There are quite a few vegetarian options, which is great. A 9/10...

Everything I look for in a cafe: •Gorgeous comfortable atmosphere. Tables have ample space around them (not packed up tight close to each other like in many Basel cafes). Different types of seating. Indoor & outdoor seating available. 3 separate rooms inside. •Super delicious food. Croffles are spectacular. •Service is great. •Easily accessible with public transportation (Tram 3, 14 to Hardstr) •Convenient hours: Open 9am to 10pm. •Great music playlist too. •Small details make all the difference.

Only thing I would change is that they would be open on Sundays....

Great spot for coffee during the day or drinks in the evening. It’s a great place to meet friends or for groups. Lots of seating options both inside and outside and the service is great. It’s one of those places you will keep going back to and the owners will remember you. Their winter gluhwein and raclette hut is a must....
