PS answer to the owner’s reply: the tone of your reply simply shows you are not happy in life. And I’m sorry for that. Saying to me to “never come back” just cause I pointed out there was No signal of advising customers of an (illegal) cash only policy, is mean. I’m sorry for you. It was not written anywhere that u could pay just by cash, that’s the only thing I was pointing out. Probably now there’s gonna be a sign after this review…I’m happy to have improved your service with my feedback.

If you go there keep in mind that It’s not possible to pay by card. It would have been kind (not mandatory for law…,but just kind) to know it in advance or see it is written somewhere (withdrawing can be expensive if you come from another country) whereas the owner tell you this in a rude and passive aggressive way at the moment of paying. I hope he will enjoy the same treatment while living in another country, but since the way he treats foreigners I’m sure he lived all his life here. I am sorry if life is that ostile to him, I hope he’ll find some...

A great little bar to sit and while away the hours over a beer, coffee or glass of wine. There is a great wine selection and they have an ever evolving menu of wines by the glass. Tell the bartender what you’re in the mood for or what you like and he will recommend something. There are small tables at the front of the bar and larger ones for groups towards the back. There is outdoor seating outside the front of the bar and there is also a little garden with seating too. It’s worth noting that it’s cash only. It is also only open...

My favourite café and wine bar in Basel and beyond. The staff is exceptionally good, always smiling and very helpfuf and generous. I have never experienced this kind of superbe service in any other cafe and bar in Switzerland. It feels anyway more like Paris when you approach this place in pretty Kleinbasel.
