Although the food was really good, the quality of service was one of the worst we had in Basel. 1. The waiter was really confused when we changed seats with a friend and she criticised us for that. 2. I asked her to pay the full menu plus the desserts (which have all the same price) beforehand in order to make sure that none of my friends will pay except me and again she told me that this is not possible since we haven’t eaten the desserts first and after she processed this it for a while she told me OK 3. She told in one of my friends that she cannot bring us water since the check has been already payed. I am not sure how it is possible to pay a 750chf bill in a restaurant and the restaurant to refuse to bring you water afterwards which by the way we were more than happy to pay. Don’t go there on a date, unless you want to share the intimacy of your table with 2 complete strangers. We were seated in a table of 4 and despite having the room half empty, they seated another couple on our table. It would be perfectly okay if we didn’t have a booking, but we reserved days in advance. We wouldn’t mind if the place was completely full, but there were 3 other empty tables for 2. Completely unacceptable for a dinner of 100 CHF per person. Food was okay but if they want to enter the michelin league they have a long way to go, starting by treating their customers with respect, giving them space instead of trying to get the maximum profit. Wow. First of all, the atmosphere was amazing - intimate and cozy yet modern. But man, the food was incredible! I think the menu rotates but some of my favorites were the celery/white chocolate/quinoa soup, grilled lettuce with potato ice cream & truffle shavings, truffle tagliatelle w egg, and the venison with spatzle and cherry.

Prices are set for 3, 4, or 5 plates per person; my friend and I ordered 4 each (to try the full menu of 8 items total) and we were quite full (but very happy). The service was great, from recommending good wines to asking if we needed a break between courses (which we did). Overall, it...
