I am compelled to express my disappointment with a recent dining experience at Papa Burrito in Bern, Switzerland. Unfortunately, it was one of the worst encounters I have had with food in the country, and with Mexican cuisine in general. The food was mediocre, lacking the flavour and quality that I have come to expect. However, it was the subpar service that truly marred the experience. After placing my order, I proceeded to my table only to find that it was not set with cutlery. I had to return to the server to request the necessary utensils, and was met with a lack of apology and a noticeable absence of a smile. To make matters worse, the Guacamole that I had ordered was missing from my meal, and I had to revisit the server to rectify the situation, again without receiving an apology or a smile. As I attempted to eat, I discovered that the food was underseasoned, and when I requested salt, I was informed that they had none available. The final disappointment came when I realised that the pineapple, a key component of my dish, was missing. By this point, I was thoroughly disheartened and chose to leave the establishment, with no intention of returning. The cumulative effect of these oversights and the poor service has led me to conclude that this restaurant falls short of the standards that I expect from a dining...
Read moreI don't normally write reviews but felt i should share what i witnessed yesterday. Whilst i was having a post meal smoke i saw a guy taking pictures of the food from Papa Burrito. Looked like he was taking official pictures for this place. It was like a salad dish with prawns on top. After he'd finished taking pictures of this one, he took the plate back in. The person that i assumed to be the owner, then proceeded to remove the prawns (without gloves), returned the prawns back to the container with all the other prawns, and replace it with chicken. Photographer then proceeded to take pictures of this chicken dish. Same thing happens. Photographer returns the dish, assumed owner removes the chicken and puts them back with the other chicken to be used again, and this time also does the same thing with the tomatoes. If i had seen this before ordering, i would have gone somewhere else. This might not bother some people, but it does bother me. I would rather have not been witness to this, because everytime i think about this now, i just think of recycled...
Read moreI promise that eating at this place is a mystical experience. I've ordered two beef tacos menu with French fries and a coke, both came in small size. The food was good, tasted fresh too, the price was honest and the staff really nice. The papa burrito restaurant is actually just to pick up food and you then get outside or in the bar to the front to eat it. It wasn't actually really clear where to go since they are two different places but you can actually get a seat inside the bar. The place was extremely particular, lots of decorations and it looks exactly like a stereotypical latin place. Also quite dirty and miserable. It even has a smoking area and a dance floor converted in dining area when not used. Obviously all seasoned with spanish music blasting from the sound system. So between all of this and the bar's customers you can sit down and eat your fast food. Doesn't make a lot of sense but I promise it's an experience everyone must try, i would give 5 stars if it wasn't for the bar, i feel like some people might like it and others don't, to me it...
