Petit Couteau — Restaurant in Bern

I love this brunch place in Bern. It has an Australian touch with Sydney breakfast during the weekend and up Ong reservation (gets very full, we got lucky we got a place without booking).

Definitely worth the price which is very good compared to other options. I recommend the legendary pancakes for sweet stuff (they have pastries and other cakes at the desk too) and the butter toast for savoury. If I had one thing to improve regarding food it would be to have chilli oil at the table, it would have been terrific with the butter toast!

The coffee is great and their milk FRESH and sooooooo good! It’s a unique brand they use, definitely not the cheap options you find somewhere else. It is a crystal bottle with the cream on top that needs to be shaken. The real milk!

The open kitchen is great and it shows how they put care in every dish they make. The staff is very friendly and the vibe of the place (very big by the way!) amazing. They also have a small shop of small businesses in case you need a small gift for someone or treat yourself. Will...

Terrible service. I would give zero stars if I could. My husband and small child arrived at around 10:15am, and my child was looking forward to a breakfast together. They took their drinks order at about 10:20, but nobody had told them at 10:15am that breakfast service was ending and they had to order food at the same time if they were going to eat. My husband tried to get attention from a waiter as my child was very hungry, and they only came at 10:30am to inform him that breakfast was closed at 10:30am. If you have children, beware!

Service épouvantable. Mon mari et mon petit enfant sont arrivés vers 10h15 et mon enfant avait hâte de prendre le petit déjeuner ensemble. Ils ont pris leur commande de boissons vers 10h20, mais personne ne leur avait dit à 10h15 que le service du petit déjeuner se terminait et qu'ils devaient commander de la nourriture en même temps s'ils voulaient manger. That's the brunch you are looking for in Bern. Tasty food with a special touch, presented in gorgeous way. The eggs were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The matcha latte was also very good. We walked in for a weekend brunch, I would suggest booking since the place is small. Service is a little on the slow side but I am sure was only that day.
