Very disappointed with our experience at Amore Amore on Saturday, May 3, 2025
We had reserved a cocktail workshop for a friend’s bachelorette. The workshop gives several venue options, and we specifically chose Amore Amore based on: a) its central location, b) an elegant and classy ambiance suited for our bride-to-be, c) the opportunity to stay afterward for dinner and drinks, d) the venue turning into a party later in the night.
We had read that service might be lacking (except for someone called Lucas on their team who is the star of the reviews, wish we had interacted with you Lucas instead of your two other colleagues), but we did not expect what followed.
Locked entrance before 7 PM: Even though the cocktail workshop took place inside the restaurant, the main (and only) door was locked because the venue wasn’t yet open to the public. This alone is a serious safety concern — in case of emergency, the group would not have had immediate access to exit. The restaurant simply offers its space for the workshop (run entirely by an external provider), but that doesn't excuse this lack of basic precaution.
Unfriendly and unprofessional staff behavior: Because the door was locked, each guest had to rely on a staff member to be let in. The staff were visibly irritated by this. One friend of ours calmly and politely asked a waitress to open the door for another guest. The waitress rudely refused, saying she would open it once she was done, and made our friend wait. That other guest ended up stuck outside for 15 minutes — time taken away from a paid, hour-long workshop. When the friend who asked for help insisted politely, the waitress started yelling at her. Completely unacceptable.
Serious incident — no apology given: About 15 minutes later, the same friend who had been yelled at was sitting at the table when a waitress dropped a full glass bottle of water on her head from behind. She was soaked from head to toe and surrounded by shattered glass. The waitress walked away without a word — no apology, no check to see if she was okay. The glass wasn’t cleaned for another 30 minutes. Our friend was left with shards at her feet and in her socks. We were all shocked — not just by the accident itself, but by the complete lack of response or accountability.
Despite all of this, we chose to stay quiet during the event to avoid drama and preserve the evening for our friend. But it was incredibly frustrating to be treated this way as a group of 9 people who had spent a lot between the cocktail workshop, dinner, drinks, and the party, all at Amore Amore.
We understand mistakes can happen, but the staff’s attitude — locking guests out, yelling at customers, ignoring a guest who had a bottle fall on her — is unacceptable. At the very least, basic hospitality would demand a sincere apology. Sadly, even that was too much to ask.
We do not recommend this place if you care about respectful service, basic safety, or professional treatment. The venue may look nice, but our experience was...

Read moreWe heard a lot about this new Italian restaurant with my wife and decided ti give it a shot. Although this used ti be a bar before and the whole space is still arranged in the same way, the atmosphere and decoration is quite nice while the location is very central and convenient. The service was very average as the place is quite big and there are not too many waiters resulting in long waiting times to order get the bill etc. Regarding the food now which is the most important we we quite underwhelmed by some of the dishes (like the vitello tonato and the pene alla siciliana) while some other were quite good (cacio e pepe and tiramisu) so it really depends on your choice. With these prices (rather on the expensive side) and so many other excellent options for Italian restaurants in Geneva, this one unfortunately doesn’t make it to...
