I was excited after reading the reviews, of the proper Italian food quality, warm welcomes of the owner serving food by himself to the clients, well just had the experience as a tourist in Geneve, this place is far from its high rating, nor the good qualities that it supposed to offer, owner was cold, barely looked us in the eye, he was too busy with one table, ignoring the rest, food quality is definitely a level 3 or street Italian food, not proper Italian, no wonder when I asked couple of Italians friends lives in town, they didn’t recognize the place, I should have taken this as a sign, besides the poor quality of the food it took 30 mins to serve main dishes, and its more expensive than other proper Italian restaurants in town, which managed by proper Italians hosts, highly not recommended for visitors...
Read moreHad dinner here this evening, and we couldn't find a single fault. The food was fantastic, the service was impeccable and the atmosphere was warm, and friendly - exactly what you would expect from a homely Italian restaurant. The pizza dough was perfectly cooked, still soft, but slightly charred from the oven, the sauce was fresh, and the cheese wasn't overpowering.
We consider ourselves to be slight connoisseurs of pizza (having just graduated from university, and everyone knows the relationship students have with pizza), and we rate the pizza from Il Colosseo to be amongst the best we've ever had. Grazie mille!

Read moreFor the love of food, who gave this place 4.5 stars. We were to late to order pizza, so pasta it was. My wife had fusili carbonate, it was so salty, the parts was too hard, please don't say aldente because it was hard. Period. The biggest issue was the bacon used in almost all the sauce, was disgusting. Grisly chunks of chewy rubbish. I had penne all'amatriciana , again the pasta was hard, the tomato sauce was undercooked, ie tart, and flavour was all bad Grisly bacon. The photos of what was inedible twigs the story.
This is not Italian food, and at these prices your better off...
