I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the restaurant L’Orangerie in Eaux-Vives neighborhood, Geneva, Switzerland.
We visited this Italian restaurant with a large group of colleagues and were hosted in the bar area, where a variety of small bites had been prepared for us. These included mini sandwiches, small squares of pizza, mozzarella and tomatoes — all fresh and enjoyable.
The service was friendly, although due to the size of our group, we didn’t have much direct interaction with the staff. The venue itself is well located and nicely set up, even if the interior décor isn’t particularly remarkable.
For the main course, we had two different pasta dishes. One was a vegetable and tomato-based pasta — good, though not especially memorable. The other, a cream and pistachio pasta, was more original and very tasty.
Dessert was a creative take on the classic tiramisu. While it was well executed, I personally would have preferred a more traditional version.
