Le Bistrot de Charlotte — Restaurant in Geneva

Classic French style bistrot, with the usual appetisers and main courses elegantly presented, located in central Geneva just beside the Four Seasons Hotel. Welcoming staff and service make for a very pleasant dining experience, and this place is a little gem, whether it is for catching up with friends or for on the go business meetings. They also have an attractively priced menu of the day including a starter, main and desert. I went à la carte with the traditional œuf mayonnaise to kick off, followed by the steak tartare, and concluded with the house “Charlotte” tarte, a zesty lemon custard, meringue and crumble combination.

Had a company dinner for 26 people. We had the entire restaurant. The staff and the management were excellent and put together menu options for us. They were flexible, accommodating with our requests and offered great choices. Tonight all of our members had a wonderful evening, the service was excellent and very friendly, all the dishes for ready at the same time for everyone and we even switched places twice and no one got confused during the service. The salad was dry same as the burger but in general terms the food was ok.

The service was the main problem. The waiter was very unfriendly borderline rude in personal treatment and also during delivery service. We had problems with the table stability he promised to fix but never did.

At the end he also seemed to be upset about not getting a tip even though the dry, uncommitted service during the evening.

I still consider the restaurant worth a chance as maybe the other meat cuts would be its strong side. But definitely an improvement in service is...
